“You’re right, but when I brought her in here to call Amelia.” Fuck. I scrubbed a hand down my face. “She told Henny she knew about her nightmares. That Henny spoke in her sleep.”

“Shit.”

“You should have seen how Henny stiffened and the terror in her eyes. They had her. I don’t know when, but those fucking cult bastards hurt her.”

“Fuck!”

I could see how the truth tormented him, and I almost regretted sharing this information, but Raiden needed to know. Hell, so did Reaper. Out of all my brothers, those were the ones already forming an attachment to Henny. I could see it.

She was fucking beautiful, but it was alsoher, the bright spark that drew us all in, and her feisty, sassy personality. She didn’t back down from Reaper and his bullshit. She wasn’tintimidated by me. And she understood Raiden and his need for control. I never met a woman more perfect for the three of us.

“You’re getting in deep,” Raiden observed.

“I’m trying to find a reason not to, and I can’t. I want to protect her and find the motherfuckers who hurt her. I want vengeance for Henny as much as I want it for Chrissy.”

Raiden released a long sigh. “I know. I get it.”

I hoped this conversation wouldn’t send him into a spiral because the blackouts he experienced resulted from the helplessness he felt when he found Chrissy. It didn’t take a shrink to figure that out. He felt guilty and heartbroken, and it hadn’t gotten better since all the shit went down a year ago.

He was my best friend. My brother. The one I loved and trusted most in the club. I didn’t want him to suffer anymore.

“When Spook arrives, I want to hear what he has to say first about those fucking cultists. Then we can bring in Henny.”

“That’s one way to do it,” he murmured. “If she’s had a similar experience to Spook and his ol’ lady, then we’ll know. She won’t be able to hide it.”

“If she’s going through shit on her own, living with that trauma, she needs help.”

“The same could be said for Reaper.”

“Yeah, well, he’s the exception on this.”

“He’s the fucking exception to everything,” Raiden laughed.

No shit.

“Maybe this will help him too,” I replied.

“Something needs to happen. He’s falling deeper into that shit, and he’s not sleeping.”

“I know.”

“Alright, I’m in. Whatever we need to do.”

“I never doubted it.”

MY EYES HAD BARELYclosed when I heard someone knocking on my door. They snapped open as I sighed and slid off the mattress, shuffling my feet as I crossed the room. I opened the door with a yawn, wondering if Devil changed his mind and wanted to leave earlier than he originally planned.

I should have been more cautious. He warned me.

A stranger stood outside the door. I blinked, realizing the error far too late, and began to close the door. His boot kicked out, shoving it back. The edge smacked me in the face, and I went down hard with a groan.Fuck. That hurt.I rubbed my nose, swiping at the crimson flood that began to trickle free, dropping onto the floor.

A new face, one I hadn’t seen since my arrival, appeared above me. The patch on his leather vest readProspect.

Devil said not to trust anyone who wasn’t one of his officers.

Shit! From the way this guy stared at me, I could tell his reason for being there wasn’t a good one.

“Get up,” the prospect demanded, standing over me with a sneer.
