She sounds so much like Henry’s son Max when he wants to get his father’s attention that I laugh and pull away from Noah. Noah lets me go, blinking like he’s just been woken up.

His eyes widen when he notices Sadie standing next to me, hands on her hips, scowl fierce. “Shit. I’m sorry, Sadie.” He holds out his hand. “It’s good to see you again.”

She waves his hand away. “You’re my best girl’s man, so we don’t shake hands. We hug. But I’m not going to hug you until you settle down.”

He glances down at his still obvious erection, grabs a pillow from the couch, and covers himself, his cheeks going red.

I can’t seem to stop laughing. I might be hysterical, but this situation…

Sadie grabs the spray bottle from the counter that she uses for her plants and starts spraying me in the face.

Which just makes me laugh harder.

“Get it together,” Sadie says. “You have a plane to catch in less than two hours.”

“A plane?” Noah looks adorably pitiful. “Where are you going?”

“Back to Catalpa Creek. I don’t like my new job. In fact, I hate it. I’d already decided to move back home because I miss the town and my sisters and I miss working at Lovemore.” I lean into him. “But most of all, I miss you. I hoped you might be willing to forgive me and take me back.”

He stares at me with something like awe on his face. “I never should have let you leave without making it clear I’ll do whatever it takes for us to be together. You’re my home, Daisy. I want to be wherever you are.”

I step forward, ready to throw my arms around him, but Sadie steps between us, arms outstretched to keep us separated. “Daisy, you have to get on this plane, because you don’t have enough money to eat this ticket.”

My hug transfers to Sadie. “Thank you for looking out for me.”

“Someone has to.” Her voice is tight, and she hugs me hard. “I’m going to miss looking out for you.”

“I’m going to miss you so much.”

“You should come with us,” Noah says. “You can see Daisy play in the Battle of the Bands tonight.”

Sadie’s smile is sad. “I’d love to, but—”

“Before you say no. You should know I’ve got a private plane that can take us all back to Catalpa Creek tonight.” He looks at me. “It was supposed to be a surprise. A way to get you home and back by tonight so you can play with your sisters.”

Emotion overwhelms me and all the tears I’ve been holding back spill down my cheeks. “That’s the sweetest… Wait? Where’d you get a private plane?”

“The Sullivans are in town for the Battle of the Bands.”

“Keating.” Of course, my cousin Keating would have flown into the small private airport about an hour outside Catalpa Creek. He’s a billionaire, made rich by creating and building adventure parks all over the world. And he’s very generous.

I turn to Sadie. “You have to come with us.”

She looks down her nose at me. “You must think I’m an idiot if you think I need to be convinced to fly on a private plane to meet your sisters. I’ve got so many questions for them.”

She heads back to her bedroom without another word, probably to pack.

I look at Noah, who isn’t even trying to hide his smile. “I guess you’re eating that plane ticket, anyway. Unless you’d rather fly commercial?”

“You must be an idiot, Noah Brooks, if you think I’m spending another second away from you.”

He kisses me and, this time, Sadie’s not around to stop us.

Chapter Thirty-Two

Daisy

My lungs are going to explode. Black dots appear before my eyes and the world spins. It’s been too long since I’ve really pushed myself and I’m not going to make it.
