“I’m such a sucker!” I muttered under my breath as I watched Annisa saunter off to her car.

I thought I was discreet, but Aiden heard me. “You’re not a sucker. You’re being nice, and as you pointed out, if someone doesn’t help her, it’ll delay the entire group.”

“Are you guys ready?” Sully asked as he came up beside us.

“Almost. Claire and I have to check our air.” Aiden pointed to his air gauge.

Sully nodded in approval. “You guys look like you’ve done this before.” He stopped in front of Aiden’s BCD. “This looks brand new.”

“It is. I just got it a few days ago,” Aiden answered.

“I love the design,” Sully said admiringly. “Where did you buy it from?”

“I got—“ Aiden’s answer was interrupted.

“Where did Annisa go?” Trevor asked. He came up while we were talking to Sully.

Whoa! I thought to myself as I took in Trevor’s appearance. Up close, he resembled a tanned Greek god. His face was too angular, but his wavy brown hair hung loosely along his jawline, which softened his features. He could be mistaken for a model in a scuba diving photo shoot.

I smothered a giggle thinking about Trevor posing for the cameras. Since the two men were waiting for an answer, I cleared my throat and composed myself.

“She went to get her equipment from her car.” I pointed in the direction that Annisa headed.

Sully frowned and tugged his beard in annoyance.

“She should’ve already started to put her stuff together. If she doesn’t do that soon, she’ll delay the dive,” Sully added gruffly. He looked down at his watch and tapped it to make the LED light appear.

The watch strap was nicked, and the steel peeked out from the worn-out black paint.

Seeing his boss’ thunderous look, Trevor intervened before Sully could fire off additional complaints.

“I’ll go find her,” he offered and smiled at me. Looking at Trevor, Annisa’s behavior toward him confused me more.

I smiled at Trevor. “Don’t worry. I’m going to help her. I’m almost done.” I pointed to my gear that I finished attaching to the air tank.

Trevor did a quick check and gave me a thumbs-up.

“Okay, just call out if you need help. Sully and I are going to grab some coffee before we start the briefing.” He gave me another one of his sexy smiles before he walked away with the gruff dive master.

“I’m done. Are you?” I asked Aiden.

He nodded and said, “Yup.”

We checked to make sure our equipment was set up right. I picked up his air gauge to see that he had over 3000 pounds of gas mixture in his tank.

“Yours look good,” I said when I finished inspecting everything.

“Yours does, too,” Aiden responded and tapped on my tank with his hand for emphasis. “I’m really looking forward to diving again. The last time I was underwater was in Cozumel.” He smiled at me, remembering our time on the island.

I blushed and said, “Well, I better go help Annisa if we want to start the dive on time. Poor Sully looked like he was going to throw a hissy fit.”

Aiden broke out in a grin and joked, “Don’t make the pirate mad.”

I laughed and said, “I’ll be right back.”

“I’ll be here,” he said, making my stomach do a little flip. I still couldn’t believe that I was here with Aiden. He didn’t look like a bronze god like Trevor, but he was handsome in his own quiet way.

I walked back to the parking lot and scoured the area for someone wearing a neon pink wetsuit, but I couldn’t find Annisa next to any of the parked cars. The only people in the parking lot were a guy in a food truck selling coffee and some divers buying it. Coffee sounded good, and I was envious that Sully and Trevor went to get some before the dive.
