Page 28 of His Holiday Fate

I’ve seen horse drawn carriages with couples in the back all over town. When I asked Dylan on a date, it immediately popped into my head as something he would like. When it comes to this kind of sweet, sappy stuff, he’s all over it. I’m glad I made the right choice.

I help him up and slide in beside him. The horse whinnies, then takes off at a leisurely pace. The cool night air flows over us, making Dylan shuffle closer to me. I throw an arm over his shoulder, bending to smell his hair.

While we’re riding, the coachman gives us the history of Fair Falls, most of the things we already know, but it’s nice to get the full experience. He points to the left and right, showing us landmarks we’ve seen dozens of times, giving us rich backstories of their origins or important events that have happened within.

The carriage ride takes about twenty minutes and I enjoy every second spent with my omega tucked under my arm.

“This is amazing,” Dylan whispers to me when the coachman is done with his presentation. “The air is so clear; the stars are so pretty. It’s really peaceful out here tonight.” He turns to look at me, his grin shaky, but brilliant. “No one has done anything like this for me before. It’s like … it makes me feel special.”

“You are, baby. Very special. I want to make you feel like this all the time.” I kiss him quickly. “And we’re not done. We have one more stop.”

Our coachman takes us to the park, where the candles I set up are still lit and the blanket is still laid out under a large white oak tree. It will provide us with a bit of respite from the wind and the cold night. I wanted to add a tent, but I didn’t want to take away from the stars above. Dylan has told me a time or two he loves how light pollution isn’t as noticeable here so he can enjoy the stars in the evenings.

After I help him down, Dylan walks quickly to the picnic I set up and sits down cross legged, smiling as he looks around. “Scrooge. You’re … you’re amazing. I might end up changing your name after all.”

I chuckle as I sit beside him, spreading my legs around him so his back is to my chest. “No, baby. I like Scrooge. It’s a conversation starter.”

Reaching beside me, I slide the basket closer to me and pull out the items I packed for our dinner. Of course, I made sure to add some Winny’s—I’m addicted to those drinks. I also have some turkey and cheese sandwiches, grapes and strawberries, baked potato chips, and those popcorn balls he loves.

When I hand him one, he turns to me with wide eyes. “Did you ask that sweet omega to make these for us?” I nod and he hugs me tightly. “Oh, Scrooge, you’re definitely getting fucked good tonight.” I bark a laugh and hand him a sandwich.

We don’t do much talking initially—we sit and enjoy the silence and the food I made. It’s no gourmet meal, but I put thought into it so I knew he would be fed tonight. After we’re stuffed, I open a Winny’s and hand one to Dylan. He sighs happily after taking a sip, snuggling closer to me.

He’s silent for a moment, then says, “Thank you for this, Andrew. It means the world to me that you would put so much thought into an evening out with me.”

Unable to help myself—or keep my mouth off him—I kiss down his ear to his neck. When he leans to the side to give me access, I lick and nip his mating mark. Dylan sighs again, his legs twisting left and right as I tease his flesh.

When I’m done teasing him, I say, “You’re welcome, baby. What would your dream date be?”

“This,” he answers quickly. “Something thoughtful. Something easy and simple, but well thought out. Don’t get me wrong, I like going out to restaurants or something like that, but this is perfect. The night air is crisp and cool and the company is hot.” Pickles looks back at me and winks. “What else could I ask for?”

I slide a hand inside his jacket and up his chest, tweaking a nipple. “And if I wanted to fuck you right here, under the stars and this huge tree?”

“I’d strip right now and let you warm me up.”

After rubbing his nipple once more and listening to his stuttering breath, I remove my hand. “Nah. I can’t have my omega catching cold. Though feeling your hot ass around my dick out in the cool air would be perfect.”

“Now you’re teasing me,” Dylan says before he quickly turns and tackles me to the ground.

I chuckle before his mouth descends on mine and takes my breath away. Even through our thick jackets, I can feel his heat and I almost want to take back what I said, pull his pants down and bury myself as far inside him as I can get.

But just at that moment, our coachman pulls up, the clomping of the horse hooves snapping us from our tasting of each other. I slowly drag my mouth from his, patting his bottom. “Come on. Let’s blow out the candles and clean up. I need to get you home and warm. Your nose is red.”

He sighs sadly, but climbs off me. “It’s for the best. I’m feeling a headache coming.” He rubs his forehead, then pinches the bridge of his nose.

I sit beside him and tip his head up. “Are you just feeling it?”

Dylan’s cheeks turn a deeper shade of red and he shakes his head. “It started this morning, but it’s getting worse. I didn’t want to not go on this date. The Winny’s probably didn’t help.” I look at his practically full bottle and he shrugs shyly. “Okay, it’s just a migraine. But it was worth it. To be with you.”

This omega is going to kill me with his sweetness.

Kissing him quickly, I tell him to relax while I get things cleaned up. About five minutes later, everything is packed up and I have a tired looking Dylan under my arm. He leans on my heavily and I bend to kiss his forehead, noticing for the first time how warm he is.

The ride home doesn’t take long and the coachman drops us off where he picked us up. Dylan is a little sluggish and I hate that a migraine ends our night. I don’t like him being in pain. Walking into the apartment, I hustle Dylan into the bedroom and start to remove his clothes.

When he’s in only his briefs, I kneel beside him and place a hand on his face. He’s burning up now but has a soft smile on his face. “What can I get you?”

“Nothing,” he says, shaking his head, then winces. “Just a migraine.”
