I lift my finger to him to hold that thought. “Roll out in thirty minutes. We’ll swing by The Tower on the way. We fucking end this today!”

I hang up the phone and turn to the guys. “I need a team. How many guys will come with me? I’m going after Ray. Shit’s gone fucking sideways.”

“What the fuck’s happening?” Steel steps up, panic all over his face. “Fuck knows, all I know is she needs to come home, right the fuck now. Pa will be here in thirty minutes. I need as many men who will lay down their lives for my sister, as we’re walking into a fucking shitfight, and fuck knows how many of us are coming out of this alive.”

Ares pulls out his phone and frantically taps at the keys, sending a group message, “Whoever's in will be out front in twenty minutes armed and ready.”

I nod and fucking run to our room and start throwing clothes around. Steel’s shouting from his room, and as I pull my shirt on, I run into the dressing room at the back where he has the mirror slid back and a fucking mini armoury. “Fuck, Steel, you and my sister really are perfect.” We start loading up, and fifteen minutes later, we’re pacing the parking lot, waiting for anyone to show up.

The first to arrive are Blade and Priest, followed by Tank and Dozer.

“Tank, man, I love you, but you should stay. Tray, Skye… they need you.” I clap him on the shoulder.

“And what kind of role model would I be to my son if I stayed here safe while everyone else I love dies for the sister I would die for myself?”

“At least you'd be here to be a role model!” I grimace at him as more and more men turn up. I hear a tiny cry and turn to see Skye coming round the corner; Tray held tightly in her arms and tears streaming down her face.

“Tank, you need to stay and look after your family.”

It's Skye that surprises me when she speaks. “Ray is my family; she saved me, and you all need to save her, bring her home, and just be safe. Will this help?”

“What's this?'' I ask as she hands me an old phone, talking like before smartphone times, an old black brick. “Skye, what is this?”

“Ray gave it to me when she left. She said if there was ever an emergency, life or death, I could call her on this, and she would always come for me. But maybe you can get her a message, or she could get one to you if she knows you have it.”

“You've had this all along?” Steel asks as he shakes his head. “Of course she wouldn't leave you alone. With no way to contact her.” Skye smiles at him but hands me the phone.

“Thanks, Skye.” I grip the phone to my chest as tyres screech behind me, and Cade jumps out of the truck.

“Just bring everyone home safe, yeah.” Skye wipes a tear from her face as she looks at Tank and turns to walk away.

He runs over to her and sweeps her up in his arms, kissing her. “See you later, love.”

She smiles at him and then at all of us. “See you all later!” We nod as we set off running for our trucks.

“Just follow us. We need supplies!” I shout as I dive into the passenger side of Pa’s truck. Steel and Ares pile in the back, and we ride out as a convoy. Heading straight to The Tower.

Pulling up in the parking lot, we head inside. There are fucking trucks everywhere, six in total, and twenty-seven of us. Fuck, this is gonna be one hell of a shit fight.

“Where's Bran and Bernie?” Steel asks, and I shake my head.

“They don’t want us to pull her out. They think she can complete the mission, then kill Bas.”

“Why are we going in then?” He grabs my shoulder to stop me from walking off. “Dane, what aren't you telling me?”

“Steel, just trust me, we need her out of there, and that son of bitch dead, okay?” He nods, and I know he wants to push, but I can't tell him, he needs to have his head in the game, and I can't throw him off. We need him.

We load up and into the armoured trucks and head for the abandoned town. It's where they've been operating besides his club, and we’ve had eyes on them in the old church on the outskirts, so that's where we're going. Every truck has a map, and we’re all heading to different sides of the town before we gatecrash as one. We want to come at it from all sides so no one gets out alive. Well, hopefully we do. We want them all dead, and now the bikers are suited and booted, all with vests, earpieces, and ammo. We stand a good chance of pulling this off.

Once we've got everyone in place, I give the order. “Heads on a swivel! Take everyone down, kill them all. Only us and Ray get out alive!” I look at my team. “Got it?” They all nod, and we draw our guns and make our way to the church. We’re about a block away, so everyone we come into contact with we drop, double tap between the eyes. Our intel tells us he has around fifty to sixty men, so we’re outnumbered, but we've got one thing they don’t: a reason to stay alive, and that reason is counting on us even if she doesn't know it. I sent her a message on the phone we got from Skye, and hopefully, she will understand we're coming for her.
