As she looked at me with happy, sleepy eyes, I felt joy leap inside me like a tiny jumping thing.
“Vanessa,” I said, gazing into her eyes, “I never thought I’d find someone like you. Someone who understands me and shares this incredible connection. I want you to come with me to Orkaris.”
Her eyes widened, and momentarily, I saw a flicker of fear cross her face. She withdrew her hand and pulled back, shaking her head. “I can’t. No, no, no, no. I have a life here on T’rra. My family, my friends. Everything I know is here.”
My heart sank, disappointment seeping through my veins. How could I have forgotten her fear of the unknown? Her risk-averse nature that had defined her life until now?
“I understand your fears,” I said softly. “But we can make a new life together on Orkaris. I promise you’ll learn to love it as much as I do.”
She leaped out of bed. And even though she was a little ball of confusion, her thoughts racing and her world shaken, she was also a naked ball of confusion, and that was pretty much all I could think about at that moment.
“Why don’t you move to T’rra instead?” she asked. “You’re an ambassador; surely you can manage your duties from here?”
I sighed, realizing I had to rise above the delightful nakedness that stood before me and stoked my soul with burning passion. I had to come up with a convincing argument. Knowing that even though I would do anything for her, my responsibilities to Orkaris were too important to be neglected. But looking at her, seeing the determination in her eyes, I knew we would find a way to bridge the gap between our worlds.
But that could wait until I satisfied the desire that her naked form stirred in me. I shifted up a gear.
“Vanessa,” I whispered as I slipped out of bed and approached her. I pulled her closer, our bond shimmering. “We’ll find a way to make this work. Together.”
I knew she was tied to her life on T’rra, but as her bonded mate, she needed to understand the gravity of my responsibilities.
“My ambassador duties require me to return to Orkaris frequently,” I began, searching her eyes for understanding. “I have many family matters to resolve before I can even consider moving to T’rra together.”
I hesitated, then added softly, “And as my bonded mate, you belong with me on my homeworld.”
Her eyes widened in surprise, and I felt a flicker of uncertainty within our bond. She stepped back, her hands clenched at her sides. “Zorak, I can’t just leave everything behind.”
I moved closer, taking her hands in mine. “It won’t be forever. And I promise to support you every step of the way.” My voice dropped to a whisper, my heart pounding with desire as I pulled her against me. “Our love transcends worlds, remember?”
Vanessa shivered against me, her breath catching as her gaze met mine. “I know. It’s just, well, hard.” Her words were hesitant, but I sensed the trust and desire in her eyes.
“Let me show you how much you mean to me,” I murmured, pressing my lips against hers with a possessive hunger. She responded with equal enthusiasm, her fingers threading through my hair as our bodies moved together in an ancient dance of passion and power.
I guided her to the bed, never breaking our heated kiss, and gently pushed her onto the cool sheets. As I hovered above her, I could feel her pulse racing beneath her skin, her body trembling with anticipation.
“Trust me, Vanessa,” I whispered, tracing my fingertips along the curve of her hip. “I will never let you go.”
“Zorak...” she breathed, her voice thick with desire.
With a growl, I claimed her mouth again, my lips tasting and exploring hers as if for the first time. Her soft moans filled the air, stirring something profound within me. Our bond was now alive and vibrant, connecting us in a way I had never experienced before.
My hands roamed over her body, exploring every inch with an intensity that stoked the heat surging between us. I felt her pulse quicken beneath my fingertips and heard her breath catch in anticipation of what would come.
I grabbed her forcefully and flipped her onto her stomach. I straddled over her in a dominating fashion, pinning her beneath me. She glanced over her shoulder at me, her eyes wide with lust and anticipation as she did my bidding and moved onto all fours. I slowly entered her from behind, deepening my thrusts with each passing moment.
My power intensified as we moved in perfect harmony, passionate and primal. Vanessa’s movements became more frantic and desperate as our bond flared brightly. She threw back her head in ecstasy, calling out my name loudly as the tension within us grew, as our pleasure reached its climax, as our intimacy merged into an explosive force of domination.
And as we lay tangled together afterwards, Vanessa’s eyes locked onto mine, filled with a mix of awe and surrender that told me without words how deeply connected we were now.
The scent of our passion still lingered in the air, a testament to the intensity of our lovemaking. The soft glow of the dimmed lights cast shadows on Vanessa’s face as she lay beside me, her body warm and supple against mine. “Zorak, I know you have to go soon,” Vanessa whispered, her voice echoing in the silence.
I nodded solemnly and tightened my arms around her in response. “Yes, Orkaris awaits me. But I will return soon, and we will discuss the beginnings of our new life together,” I promised, pressing a soft kiss against her forehead.
Vanessa shivered against me and pulled back slightly to look into my eyes. “You think we can make this work?” Anxiety lingered in her gaze and tugged at my heartstrings.
“I know it,” I replied confidently with a reassuring smile. “We have something rare, something that has defied all logic and reason. And together, nothing is impossible for us.”
