A quick look around told Georgie that aside from herself, Naomie, and Dr. Thomason, there were three other people present. A very tall man with his back to the door, two nurses, and the patient. The tall man was watching the nurses change the bandages on the patient.

Naomie looked around at him. "Russ?"

When he turned and took Naomie's hand, Georgie nearly gasped. Naomie must have seen her surprise and spoke up quickly. "I know what you're thinking, but no, it's not the President. This is his twin brother, Russell Walker. Russ, these are the brilliant people I've been talking non-stop about, Doctors Mykel Thomason and Georgie Williams."

Georgie was shocked. She hadn't realized the patient would be part of the President's family. Not that it mattered in terms of the quality of care he would receive, but it was a little daunting for a girl who grew up in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina. She wasn't accustomed to keeping such lofty company.

Mykel was the first to shake Russell's hand. "I've read quite a lot about your family's accomplishments and endeavors to help repair our world. It's an honor to meet you in person."

"I believe the honor's mine, Dr. Thomason. I've read about your work at BioNow, and it's nothing short of miraculous."

"Thanks to brilliant minds like Naomie's and the dedication and compassion of skilled doctors like Georgie," Mykel replied.

"Don't sell yourself short, Dr. Thomason. You've many accomplishments to be proud of, and I appreciate you taking this case. Obviously, this is very personal and important to my family."

"We're all happy we can be of assistance."

"And thank you, Dr. Williams," Russell took Georgie's hand. "You're quite a remarkable woman, and I'm honored to shake your hand."

"I think that goes both ways, sir. And, if I might add, anyone who wins Naomie's heart has to be one hell of a person."

"She is remarkable, isn't she?" Russell looked over at Naomie and smiled.

"That she is, sir."

"While I hate to interrupt all this wonderful flattery, the reason we're all here," Naomie walked over to the bed where a very handsome dark-haired man lay, "is Riggs Walker, Navy Seal, my best friend, and one of my own personal heroes. Riggs, this is your team. Dr. Mykel Thomason, your surgeon, and Dr. Georgina Williams, your physical therapist and personal task master."

Dr. Thomason stepped over to the bed. "Mr. Walker, thank you for your service. I've received your files and, with your permission, would like to examine your leg."

"Have at it."

"Are you on pain medications at present?"

"Yes, sir."

Dr. Thomason nodded. "Mr. Walker, Naomie, if you'd accommodate me, I'd like some time alone with Mr. Walker. Dr. Williams, if you'd stay?"

"Yes, sir," Georgie agreed, making note of the expressions on Naomie and Russell Walker's faces. They didn't want to leave. "Naomie, you know Dr. Thomason is the best, so trust him and me. We share a common goal here."

"You're right," Naomie agreed. "Maybe we'll go to the cafeteria and have a coffee. You'll send for us when the examination is complete?"

"I'll come get you myself," Georgie promised.

"Okay, fine," Naomie offered her hand to Russell. Once they'd left the room, Georgie finally walked over to the bed. Riggs was watching Dr. Thomason, which gave her a chance to watch him.

Aside from the pallor, he was drop-dead-gorgeous. She'd guess him to be at least six-three, two hundred forty pounds, solid and, to all appearances, well built. His dark hair was cut short but not buzzed, and he had the kind of blue eyes that were really more grey than blue and rimmed with lashes dark enough to make the contrast striking.

She'd be willing to bet that when at full strength and health, he was a real traffic stopper. He noticed her watching him and smiled at her. "Hi."

Oh yeah, he was indeed potent. Even drugged, probably still in a bit of shock and having suffered serious trauma, he had the power to send her hormones into an excited flutter.

"Hi, we haven't been introduced yet. I'm Dr. Georgina Williams, DPT, but you can call me Georgie."

"Thank you, Georgie. I'm Riggs, and I sure haven't seen many doctors that look like you," Riggs replied. "Naomie showed me photos of you. Winning the marathon. Your – you know."

"Bionic leg?" Georgie asked. "It's okay, you can say it. I'm not ashamed or uncomfortable. In fact, I'm happy to show it to you once we complete the exam. If you want, that is."

"Yeah, actually, I'd like to see it and talk to you about the whole process."
