Becca shook her head. “No, you don’t.”

“I don’t?”

She shook her head once more, placing her hand against his cheek. “Nope. I think this one should go on forever with a new chapter around every corner. Let’s don’t think about any endings.”

“A ‘to be continued’ at the end of every book.”

“Now you’re getting it.” Becca’s amusement faded and her eyes grew serious. They dipped lower to his mouth and darted once more to his eyes. That was all the permission he needed.

Ethan pulled her firmly toward him and captured her lips with his. Their connection was more than fire. It was more than electricity or even fireworks. Theirs was something so unimaginable there were no words to describe it. With Becca, he had found something priceless. He’d found the possibility of a future—of something bigger and brighter than anything he’d ever had.

He'd found true love.

And one day, he’d make sure she knew just how much this kiss meant because he was going to marry her.

She just didn’t know it yet.

EPILOGUE

Six monthslater

Becca sat at the kitchen table across from Ethan’s mother while Rose and Ethan hustled around the island, putting the finishing touches on dinner. Ethan had just closed on the house, though it wasn’t what Becca had expected him to go for.

From what she understood, Ethan wanted his chance to run something all on his own. The small ranch house sat on just over two acres of land and offered just enough space for them to own about three horses. The stables needed some work, but that could be done over time.

Ethan insisted this was the right move, though he didn’t expand on his reasoning. The Boone family appeared as happy as ever.

Ethan’s mother reached across the table and grasped Becca’s hand. “I’m so glad he found you,” she murmured in her soft voice. “I don’t think I’ve seen my children this content in a long time.”

Becca grinned at Angela. “I’m glad we found each other.”

Angela squeezed her hand in response. “It’s nice to have the whole family back together again.” She leaned forward conspiratorially. “And perhaps I might be gaining another daughter in the process?”

Becca glanced toward Ethan, who looked up at her. Their eyes locked and Becca smiled. “Perhaps you will.”

They hadn’t told anyone yet, but they’d already discussed their future. She’d moved to Rocky Ridge, and finding a temporary place to live hadn’t been as hard as she’d thought. Thankfully, her job didn’t require her to stay in Utah. Her agent was capable of working with her remotely—though she had greatly benefitted from being in the same city for the beginning of their contract. And finally the issue of needing a new roommate was resolved in the process of moving.

It was only a matter of time before they’d announce officially that they planned on tying the knot. They’d decided to give it a few more months so no one accused them of moving too fast, but she was itching to move forward with their lives as a married couple.

Ethan and Rose returned to the table. “That does it,” Ethan said as he placed the pot roast on the table with a flourish.

Becca stared in amazement at the roast. “You made that?”

Rose snorted. “Of course not. He barely lifted a finger while we got dinner ready. Once you got here he rushed around like he was actually involved when he wasn’t.”

“Not true, I supervised,” Ethan scoffed.

His sister scowled and placed the salad next to the roast.

“See that? I tossed the salad.”

“You dumped the bag of baby lettuces into the bowl. That’s not exactly tossing a salad,” Rose argued.

Despite the words being thrown back and forth, Becca could hear just how much these two loved each other. There wasn’t anything Ethan wouldn’t do for his little sister. He’d helped her get a job at the best restaurant in town and everything was settling down.

Well, everything except one thing.

Ethan took a seat beside Becca, slipping his hand into hers beneath the table. His left leg bounced, indicating just how nervous he was. He glanced around the table, but no one else seemed to notice what was about to happen.
