I glanced over at Tyeis to see her holding Baylor. She was smiling and cooing, but then a frown graced her face, and she nearly dropped Baylor onto Nesha’s lap. Jess ran to her only to see the liquid puddle on the floor. Well, he wouldn’t have to make special arrangements to do the DNA test. They could do it here, possibly.

Everyone crowded around Tyeis, and Aunt Olivia escorted her to the nurses’ station. We were already on the third floor, so they didn’t have far to go. I felt for D. This situation had to put a damper on the birth of the babies. I could imagine he wouldn’t want to bond with them as much until he found out the truth. That was probably one of the reasons they’d been arguing a lot too. I glanced over at Yendi to see she’d sat in a corner and had fallen asleep.

I made my way to her and kissed her lips. Her eyes fluttered open, and she smiled at me. “Sorry.”

“You ain’t gotta apologize, baby. It’s almost one in the morning. You want me to take you back to your car so you can go home?”

“No. I’m good here with you,” she said then rested her hand on my cheek.

“Good, because I want you here with me. Get you a nap in. I’m gonna go check on Tyeis and see how far along she is in her labor. She’s early by a month though. So hopefully the babies will be okay.”

“I’m sure they will. Go ahead, baby. I’ll be right here if you need me.”

I smiled at her beautiful face and kissed her luscious lips.Damn, her lips soft. Her lips were one of my favorite parts of her body. That pussy claimed the number one spot, but those lips were definitely a close second. Feeling them on mine and on my dick was like having a cold glass of water on a hot day after working cattle.Shit.

I kissed her again, and Nesha said, “Keep it up and y’all gon’ be taking a trip this way sooner than you anticipate.”

I chuckled. “I won’t shoot you the finger since you just pushed out a baby giant.”

I turned back to Yendi. “I’ll be back, baby.”

I kissed her again just for Nesha’s viewing pleasure then headed to find where they took Tyeis. Once I was outside of the door, my phone rang. Pulling it from my pocket to silence it, I saw it was Ali.Shit.“What’s up, dude? What’chu got?”

“What’s up? I called Philly, but he didn’t answer. I know it’s late, but I found out some shit. Tyrese is kin to Tyeis’s baby daddy, Kelvin. That’s his cousin. He’s kin to the cop on his mother’s side and kin to this fool on his father’s side. Anyway, they are working together to try to bring down the Hendersons.”

What the fuck!

“He messed around and made a move to set up some minor shit at a grocery store, destroying product with an employee. He’s planning to make his rounds at all the local grocery stores and has the rice farms on his hitlist. I’m gonna move this shit to the top of our list of priorities. I’m also gonna have someone at each store near inventory, and I’m coming to Nome to the rice farm in a few hours.”

“That muthafucka. So this issue with paternity of Tyeis’s babies?”

“That’s just to distract y’all from what he’s really after. I saw them going to the hospital. She in labor?”

“My cousin Nesha went into labor. Tyeis was coming to visit her and ended up going into labor while she was here. Decaurey is going to submit DNA for a test to shut this nigga up.”

Hopefully. With the way that nigga was talking, for Ty’s sake, I prayed those babies were his. If they weren’t, this shit wasn’t going to be good. However, Grandma’s word had to mean something. She was the one that had said Ty was pregnant. Surely, she wouldn’t spill the beans on that if she thought she was pregnant by someone else, would she? Maybe she didn’t get a reading on that. I chuckled to myself as I thought of my grandmother as a damn psychic or something.

“A’ight.”

“I’m going to call a meeting in the morning so you can meet everyone. They are all here at the hospital, so let me get with my uncles.”

“Okay. See you later.”

“Bet.”

I ended the call and wanted to throw my fucking phone. This nigga was just as shady as I thought he was. I made my way back inside Nesha’s room and called Uncle WJ out of there. He’d stayed with her, and Aunt Olivia had gone with Decaurey and Tyeis. Yendi was sound asleep, her head resting against the wall. When he walked out of the room, he immediately asked, “What’s going on?”

“That guy, Tyrese, is trying to hit grocery stores and destroy inventory. He has inside people working at each fucking store. Ali has guys that will be at every store in the area to stop shit from happening, and he’s coming to Nome in a few hours to meet with us and man the rice farms. Most likely around nine or ten.”

“Fuck,” he mumbled. “All this shit got to with Reggie?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Yeah. His ass needs to disappear like his uncle. Let’s go tell Storm, Marcus, Jasper, and Kenny.”

I followed him to the waiting area to see my uncles all seated and talking amongst themselves. “I need to talk to y’all,” Uncle WJ said when we approached. “Y’all too, Jen and Tiff.”

My mama had stayed behind with my other aunts and uncles to get the barn cleaned up and food put away. She was probably sleeping now so she would hear this shit later, along with Philly and Nesha. Everyone stood and followed Uncle WJ to a far corner of the room. They all wore frowns, showing their confusion. That was when I realized just how much they all looked alike, especially Aunt Jen, Aunt Tiff, and Uncle Storm.
