He kissed her again until her body melted against him. Then she was like a wild thing. Her hands were all over his back and shoulders. Her legs wrapped around his and she wiggled and moved. His willpower broke and he pumped into her with increasing speed.

“Yes,” she cried out, laughing.

He rode her long and hard, feeling her quiver and come underneath him. Just when he thought he’d explode inside her, Dylan flipped them so she was on top. He had slid out of her, and LeAnn was desperate to push him back inside.

“Let me help,” he said guiding his cock up and in when she straddled him.

“Oh,” she said, her eyes wide.

“Hey, beautiful,” he said.

“Hey, yourself.” She took in a shaky breath.

“Make yourself come.”

“How?”

“Anyway, you want.”

It took her a few tries to get the rhythm and speed down, but soon she was riding him hard, moving toward her own pleasure. Dylan was breathless and a second behind her. This was everything he had fantasized about since dancing with her at her eighteenth birthday.

Joy and desire lit up her eyes and LeAnn clenched tight around him. Dylan exploded, gripping her hips to keep her joined to him as he came. Afterwards, she sank down next to him.

“What time is it?” she muttered.

Dylan flopped his head toward the bedside clock. “Nine.”

“I’ve got another hour,” she said before kissing him hard.

Chapter Three

Six months later

LeAnn stared up at the bright Texas sun. The fluffy clouds drifted lazily across her vision. The blue of the sky was so pure, her eyes watered. She felt dizzy and out of sorts.

“Get up!”

The ground trembled. Earthquake? LeAnn wasn’t sure, but she rolled over on her hands and knees and forced her head up. It hurt.

Coming straight at her was an angry bull. He had horns that had been filed down, but that didn’t lessen the terror that flooded through her at the sight of the animal coming toward her. It all came back to her now. She had wrecked. Gotten tossed off him, landed on his back hard, and then hit the ground. And this bull was one of the smaller ones she had been training with.

Adrenaline pushed her to her feet. Her helmet was askew. Her vest was tight and cutting into her, but she managed to dodge the bull’s head as it swung at her. Stumbling back, LeAnn also avoided the bull’s kicking back feet.

One of the bullfighters got in between the bull and her. Another one slung an arm around her shoulders and hustled her out of the practice arena and safely behind the fence.

“You all right?” the bullfighter asked.

She managed a nod, but she was still feeling a little woozy and it was hard to catch her breath. LeAnn leaned against the fence and tried to look nonchalant. It was good practice for a real rodeo. In a real rodeo, though, she should have waved to the crowd. Right now, LeAnn wasn’t sure she could do that without falling over.

The bullfighter returned to the arena to help set up for the next bull rider who was training at Trent Campbell’s rodeo school. It took watching a few more rides and a lot of deep breaths for LeAnn to feel back to normal again. Taking a quick look around the stands, she was relieved that her family hadn’t seen her get thrown. They didn’t know she was practicing bull riding. It had been bad enough when they learned she was going to ride broncs.

They thought she was practicing barrel racing—not bull riding. LeAnn hated to lie to them, but she didn’t want them to worry. She also didn’t want to hear the same lectures they gave her when she told them she was going to bust broncs on the circuit.

“It’s too dangerous.”

“You can’t control an animal like that.”

“You’re going to get killed.”
