It’s a brief, almost chaste kiss. It sends hot lava, thick fire, burning embers down my spine.
When David pulls back, he’s smirking.

I don’t know how I’ll get him back for this.
But if David’s going to use this fake relationship to tease me, to mock my feelings for him… well, maybe he deserves a taste of his own medicine.

David
Laura’s lips are pinker than usual today.
Technically, I’m in a departmental meeting where I’m meant to be listening intently to our chief operating officer, who is someone whom I am forced to respect despite not having practiced law in two decades.
In actuality, I can only muster up the care to look at Laura and her pinker-than-usual lips.
Laura’s eyes catch mine, and I can practically hear what she’s thinking.
She leans back in her chair. The angle is far from obscene, but it’s also tantalizing enough that my eyes are glued to her.
She presses one hand to her thigh. Over her skirt, an unflattering velvet in the shade of a camel, and only right above the knee. Perfectly respectable.
Her nail polish is bright red.
Something about it makes my cock twitch in my pants.
“Meeting dismissed,” I say.
Everyone startles.
The person who was speaking looks at me like I’ve grown two heads. I raise my brow, not one to be questioned, and everyone scurries out.
