“Well, I’m watching your game tomorrow, so it’ll just have to wait,” I retorted like a brat.

“If it hurts after your next game and you don’t get it checked out, Iwillfuck you up, O,” he threatened, and I knew that he was serious.

“Can I just enjoy your game tomorrow?” I sighed, loving the guy anyway.

Relenting, he asked, “You going to watch it at home?”

“I’m not sure,” I admitted. “There’s a bar a few blocks over that doesn’t get all crazy if players show up, so I might watch it there. Besides, with everyone focusing on the game, I doubt anyone would notice me.”

“You’re six-foot-six and the best point guard the Devils have ever had,” he deadpanned. “I’m pretty sure you’ll get noticed.”

“Do you harass everyone that calls you to wish you good luck like this?”

“Only you, Tite, At, and Seb,” he replied, not skipping a beat.

“We spoiled my sister,” I sighed.

“Yes, we did,” he agreed.

“Okay, enough about everything else,” I said. “Good luck tomorrow, man.”

“Thanks,” he replied, that smile back in his voice. “I’m not too worried about it, but any given Sunday, right?”

“Tomorrow’s Saturday.”

“Eat a dick.”

“I don’t swing that way.”

“Remind me why we’re friends?”

“Nova.”

Raven let out a sharp laugh. “You’re not lying.”

“Okay, enough,” I chuckled “Good luck.”

“Thanks,” he replied, seriously this time. “I feel good about it.”

After hanging up with him, I thought about calling some of the guys to see if they wanted to watch the game with me, but quickly decided against it. While I’d call a few of the guys on my team friends, I had only fourrealfriends, and it felt different when I hung out with other people. When I got together with my teammates, it really was just partying and shit like that, and I wanted toreallywatch Raven’s game, not just hang out and check it out during bullshit and banter.

Plus, it might be easier to meet someone alone. Yeah, I wasn’t dying over that deal that we’d made with Sebastian, but it was time to get some relief. Besides, the deal had been to ease up some, not stop altogether, and I had needs that needed to be met in order to help keep me half-sane. Luckily for the part of me that wasn’t in a rush to make a commitment, I was recognizable enough in this city to get laid with no drama if it came down to it.

I felt a pinch in my shoulder, and if I did get lucky tomorrow night, I just prayed that she wasn’t going to need any acrobatics in the bedroom to get off.

Chapter 4

Sinclair~

“You’re killing me,” I groaned. “I mean, we’re supposed to be best friends, Harley. How could you do this to me? Where’s your sense of loyalty? I thought that we were devoted to each other.”

“You’re Looney Tunes. You know that, right?”

I fluttered my lashes at him. “Is that your way of telling me that I’m a classic?”

“No,” he retorted. “That’s my way of telling you that you’re batshit crazy.”

I scowled.
