“You do that,” he chuckled. “Again, I love you. However, I can’t watch you watch football, Sin.”

I batted my eyelashes at him again. “There might be some cute girls there-”

“That will think I’m crazy when they see me sitting with a nutjob on the verge of getting arrested because she doesn’t like a ref’s call,” he finished for me. The jerk shot me a look when he added, “And what happens when I tell them that the cuckoo bird in handcuffs is my best friend? What will they think of me then?”

Despite how much I wanted Harley to hang out with me tomorrow, that got a chuckle out of me. “I don’t always get arrested.”

Harley grinned back. “I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time without me.”

“I’d have a better time with you,” I whined.

“Why, yes. Yes, you would,” he agreed arrogantly. “However, I’m an automatic cockblock, and you need to get laid, Sin.” He gestured in my direction. “You’ve got too much pent-up hostility in you.”

“I want to deny it, but it’s been a while,” I muttered.

My best friend laughed. “Oh, I know.”

We definitely overshared.

“Fine, I’ll go without you,” I conceded.

“I’m pretty sure that we already established that,” he smirked.

“In return-”

“This isn’t Let’s Make a Deal-”

“-you’re going to watch Practical Magic with me,” I ordered.

“For the love of God, Sin-”

“Please,” I begged, fluttering my lashes his way again.

“I think I’d rather watch football with you,” he growled before reaching for the remote control.

I immediately snuggled up to him. “Have I told you lately that I love you?”

“I hate you.”

“You’re lying,” I grinned.

“Not this time,” he argued. “This time, I mean it.”

An hour later, he was still lying about hating me.

Icouldn’t lie and say that I didn’t enjoy some of the perks of being a star athlete. Your Choice was a bar/restaurant that was for the die-hard sports connoisseur. For not being fancy, it was rather popular with its unique design, and the service was always great.

When you first walked in, you immediately saw the small restaurant-style seating in the middle of the room. To the left, you saw a bar that spanned the length of the entire south wall, and at the end of it, there was a small hallway that led to the restrooms. To the right, you had your hostess, cash register, and all that jazz. In jeans or a suit, the place was designed to make you feel comfortable however you were dressed for the day. Granted, it was only opened during lunch and dinner, no breakfast.

It wasn’t until you walked past the double doors that led to the back of the restaurant that things got interesting. In the middle of the room was a circular bar that only two people could access at one time out in the open. However, like a honeycomb, there were individual rooms that surrounded the bar, and each room catered to a different sport. So, if you only wanted to watch basketball, then you went into the basketball room, only NBA games on the screens. If you only watched soccer, then you went into the soccer room, only MLS games on the screens, and so forth. The place was designed to hang out with people that liked the same sport as you, and it was crazy how people bonded coming here, becoming new friends.

Now, of course, there was a section that played a variety of sports on the three separate televisions screens, but that area was hardly ever occupied by the die-hard fans. That’s where fantasy league people hung out or whatever. I wasn’t a fan of fantasy anything, but to each his own.

As soon as I walked into the room, the day-manager greeted me immediately. “Hey, Knight.”
