Carrying my phone and the power bank, I made my way to the dining table, conveniently located near the kitchen.

To my surprise, breakfast was already being prepared. Well, who was I kidding? The breakfast was meant for Lily, courtesy of Kenneth.

Nevertheless, I grabbed a slice of buttered bread to appease my own hunger.

As I glanced around, my eyes landed on an assortment of clothes strewn across a nearby chair. To my shock, I recognized them as my own from a distance. Intrigued, I swiftly approached to confirm my suspicion. Sure enough, they were indeed my clothes.

These were the very clothes I had taken to Tresa's place. It could only mean that she had returned them last night. Damn, she truly meant it when she said she didn't want to speak to me and wanted me gone from her life. I simply couldn't believe it.

I made my way back to the dining room, determined to retrieve my phone.

Unlocking it without hesitation, I opened the messenger app, hoping for a message from her.

But alas, my hopes were crushed as soon as the app loaded, revealing a pop-up message from Tresa. I had anticipated something positive, something to ease the tension between us, but instead, her words delivered a blow that left me reeling.

Tresa: There's nothing left to discuss, and I've taken the liberty of returning your belongings to your abode. Specifically, your clothes. I implore you not to seek me out, and please refrain from invading my sanctuary. Your presence is no longer welcome...

Her message ignited a fire of anger within me. Adding insult to injury, she had also decided to block me, severing any means of communication.

Was this how low she was willing to stoop in order to rid herself of my existence?

Her return of my clothes finally made sense.

I now craved an explanation, a resolution to this turmoil. I set my sights on confronting her directly, making a mental note to visit her residence today. However, in the midst of my contemplation, Kenneth emerged from behind the curtains, accompanied by his girlfriend, Lily. My eyes inadvertently fell upon her attire, cringing at the sight of her wearing my clothes. Yet, I tried to push those thoughts aside, reminding myself that I didn't have a specific reason for not wearing it anymore, but if she ever returned it, I knew without a doubt I would either burn it or tear it to shreds.

As Lily departed, Kenneth bid her farewell with a tender kiss and a wave, exemplifying the epitome of a gentleman. With chivalry in full display, he secured the door behind her, ensuring her safety and privacy.

Once Lily was out of sight, I turned to him and questioned, "I thought you said for an hour!"

"Well, you made her incredibly uncomfortable, Skye," Kenneth stated.

"Thank goodness she's gone...!" I exclaimed, relieved.

"Well, I also played a part in encouraging her to leave because Mom texted me that she's coming home soon," he explained.

"No wonder Lily left!" I responded, gesturing with my hand.

"Whatever, Skye," he replied dismissively.

Curiosity got the best of me and I inquired, "Did you happen to know when Tresa arrived?"

"Oh, you're referring to your clothing here, right? Tresa didn't show up; someone else did!"

"And who might they be?"

"I don't know their names, but there were two girls, and they introduced themselves as Tresa's new best friends..."

"Best friends??" I couldn't help but clasp my hand, shocked.

"Are you two really having an argument?" he inquired.

"I wouldn't classify it as a fight, but rather a misunderstanding..."

"A misunderstanding?"

"Yes, a misunderstanding. It's hard to believe she's still upset about what happened last night," I confessed, hiding my face with my hand.

"What happened last night?" Kenneth asked eagerly.
