“Thank you for being willing to support that dream.”

“That’s easy. I supportyou, sweetheart. You. Period. All dreams included.”

A warm feeling filled me, and I recognized our matebond flaming up between us. I could see it now, bright and blazing in my mind’s eye. My midnight black Wolf and his chestnut brown Hellhound curled around each other in the metaphysical plane where they waited till called.

“You know, you're my favorite dream, Mitch. And you've already come true. You’ve given me so much,” I said, looking up into his glowing hazel eyes.

“You’re my fire, baby. I can’t live without you.”

“I love you.”

“I love you so fucking much.”

Then he kissed me, and my soul burned with love for him. I sighed, wondering what a fool I’d been to think coming home was hard. I mean, it wasn’t easy, but nothing worth it ever is.

Our story was just beginning. The Witch Shifter Clan was in its infancy. And Mitch and I were just starting out. But I had faith in us, in my Clan, my family, and I knew we would reap what we sowed.

Power and fire, beast, and human, we would be a sanctuary for those on the outside. The ones looking in from the cold. I was determined to honor Mama Anne and Davian and Erryn. And I would devote myself to this, to Mitch, to those we could help by being better and stronger, and fuck knew that meant being together. Oh yeah, this was the beginning, but it was already better than I expected.

“Let’s go, sweetheart.”

Mitch took my hand and led me outside to his truck. We had an Alpha to see, and a Clan to get recognized by the Council. I didn’t necessarily mind the politics of the supernatural world, and my corporate law background actually gave me a leg up on the paperwork I needed to fill out just to get this meeting. Nerves assailed me, but I had Mitch at my side and my family behind me.

The Witch Shifter Clan was about to be official. And we were off to a banging start.

The end.
