“I have missed this.” He groaned as his mouth found my breast. I gasped in shock as he pulled at my nipple with his teeth and swirledhis tongue around the tip. My head fell back against the tree as he did it again, this time on the other side.

He made quick work of my trousers, only letting go of me long enough to pull them off entirely. Then he grabbed one leg and licked up from my knee, pressing a kiss along the inside of my thigh, and then another, and then another, lifting my leg each time until it was bent over his shoulder. Then he nipped at the softness where my leg ended and looked up at me.

“Are you sure you want this, diizra?” he whispered against my skin. That nickname should have sounded wrong coming from Killian’s lips but it didn’t. The melody of it was still the same, the hunger, the love, the need, it was all there in whatever voice Riven used.

When I didn’t answer his question, Riven’s hand trailed up my torso. It carved a path between my breasts until he reached my throat. His fingers wrapped around the base of it and he pulled my jaw down to look at him.

Jade eyes stared up at me; they swam with desire but something else too. Patience and worry. I knew that if I told Riven to stop he would without question. But seeing him on his knees, his mouth so close to where I needed him, was too much to turn away.

“Yes,” I rasped, my head scratching against the tree as I angled my hips toward him.

His teeth scraped along the top of my mound, a gentle tease followed by firm kisses. My leg shook with the need for him.

“Please,” I whispered, his hand still wrapped around my throat.

His tongue parted me, slowly at first, like an itch being scratched. But then his nails trailed down my body from my neck, scraping at my skin just as his other hand slipped inside me. Riven captured that swell of need on his tongue and did not relent until I was sure he had split me in two.

I fell back thinking Riven was done but he didn’t stop. He pumped his fingers into me without pause, matching the tempo of my moans as he reignited the wave of heat that had exploded through my core. He stared up at me, his eyes narrowing as my chest shook at every touch.

That warmth spread through my body once again, more intense than the first time. My head lolled to the side and I felt the thrashing power of my magic unleash. The lake bubbled and tiny droplets of water floated from the surface and coated my skin, but it did not do enough to cool me.

Riven didn’t stop, though his eyes tracked the movement of my water magic through the trees. He added a third finger and caressed that inner part of me that felt so good it bordered on pain. My hand dropped to his hair, pinning him against me so he knew not to stop. My hips bucked against his face but Riven only groaned, enjoying every second of it.

He kept me on that edge with water droplets floating in the air all across the small grove we were in. “I want to see you come undone,” he ordered from beneath me. His tongue circled that tiny spot until I gave him what he wanted.

The waves of pleasure were still pulsing through me as I pulled him to my face and claimed his mouth with mine. Riven pushed against me until there no space left between our bodies, so tightly pressed we could have become part of the tree.

Riven unlaced the top of his pants and I turned around so my chest was pressed against the smooth bark. Riven paused for only the slightest moment and I knew he was looking at the scars along my back. His hand trembled as he touched them in this form for the first time, a form that looked so much like the one who made them.

“Diizra.” Riven kissed my shoulder blades. “You can face me if that is more comfortable.”

There was no judgment in his tone, only deep concern. It made my heart flutter, but I had known what I was doing when I turned around. “No.” There were no secrets between us now. I wasn’t going to let what Damien had done to me wedge itself between us, no matter what form Riven took. I reached back and pulled him closer to me by his hip.

Riven nipped at my ear and slowly pushed that hardness against me. He pulled back so I could feel the length of him. Even in this body, Riven could reach parts of me only he had touched.

“Keera,” he groaned as our bodies joined together. His arm wrapping around my shoulders, arching my back toward him as he slid in and out of me. He kissed the nape of my neck and then the top of my large scar. I gasped but he kept going, leaving gentle, loving kisses along the ragged parts of me while his hands dimpled my thighs, pulling me against him in primal thrusts.

“Diizra.” His breath was hot on my ear and sent a wave of pleasure down my spine. “I want to look at you when I finish.”

I groaned, pressing into him one more time before he stepped back from the tree. I turned and stared at him in the pale moonlight. This form was so different from his Fae one. His frame was slimmer, but still as toned as any soldier’s. He lifted his fingers to my belly and I could feel the callouses on his hands—some from swordplay, but most from flipping through books and pressing quills to parchment.

I stepped toward him, licking my lips as every muscle in his body tensed with anticipation. I dragged one finger up his chest, starting at his thigh and then circling over his hip. Riven’s jaw pulsed but he did not move an inch, relishing the pleasure of my touch. I kissed him deeply, letting his hands roam over my skin with abandon. Then I caught his bottom lip with my teeth.

He stilled. The amber rings around his jade eyes seemed to deepen as he watched his own lip snap back from my mouth. I ran my thumb across it, noticing how much more swollen his Mortal lips had become. Then I pressed a single finger to his chin and made him fall to his knees.

Riven licked his lips, ready to feast on me again. I shook my head and shoved him back with my foot along his chest. He fell back onto the sand with wide eyes that narrowed as I stood over him.

I smirked at the hunger in his face as I lowered myself on top of him. Our bodies reunited without protest. Riven groaned, fisting the flesh along my hips as they bucked. His neck stretched back and I leaned down to drag my fangs across his beating pulse just as he had done to me. Goosebumps covered his skin and his breath hitched as my grinding became more intense.

He nipped at my breast with his teeth and moaned my name into the night. I fell over that edge of ecstasy with him, my body collapsing on top of his until the only sound was our joined and ragged breaths.

I sat up and lifted my leg, but Riven held me by the hips. “I’m not close to finished with you.” He pulled me by my neck and kissed me with just as much vigor as before.

I peered down at his sweaty chest. His Mortal body was covered in red patches and he could barely catch his breath. “You’re spent.” I chuckled, caressing his nose with mine and stroking his blond hair.

“This form might be.” Riven flipped me over in the sand and there was a flash of light. My body tensed, taking in the new length that pierced me. “But this form is quite rested, I assure you.”

Black shadows burst from Riven in all directions. I wrapped my legs around him and pulled him into a kiss. The first light of dawn was only a few short hours away and I would have Riven in as many ways and as many forms as he would give me.
