Yet here he was, grappling with his own limitations.

“We’re in this together,” I replied, cupping his face gently with my hands, forcing him to look at me. “You’ve already done so much. Now it’s my turn.”

He gave me a weak smile, but I could tell he wasn’t convinced.

Hoping to change the topic and lift his spirits, I pointed to a tall tree nearby. “Let’s climb that one. We need to get a better vantage point.”

He nodded, seemingly grateful for the distraction.

We made our way to the tree, its rough bark feeling sturdy and inviting under my fingertips.

With Talan guiding and boosting me at times, we began our ascent.

As we reached the upper branches, the forest opened up before us.

It was breathtaking.

The dense canopy stretched as far as the eye could see, its vibrant shades of green punctuated by bursts of colorful blossoms and the gentle flutter of winged creatures.

Far off in the distance, waterfalls cascaded down shimmering cliffs, their sprays catching the light in a mesmerizing dance.

Despite the imminent danger lurking below, for a moment, I was captivated by the sheer beauty of it all.

The play of light and shadow, the serenity of nature — it was at odds to the chaos we were entrenched in.

“You know,” I began, turning to Talan with a soft smile, “even with a lunatic alien on our trail, I can’t help but feel… happy. And that’s because of you, Talan. It’s a strange thing to say, given our circumstances, but it’s true.”

He looked genuinely surprised. “Even now? With Krexar hunting us?”

I nodded. “Yes, even now. Because I’m not alone. I have you. And that makes even the most terrifying moments bearable.”

Talan laid down on the wide branch, his horns carving thin markings into its bark. “I need to think,” he murmured, his eyes scanning the horizon. “I need to figure out another way to outsmart him.”

But I had something else in mind. “Talan,” I whispered, a mischievous glint in my eyes, “I already have an idea.”

His gaze shifted to me, curious and a tad skeptical. “What is it?”

Before I could respond, I leaned over, capturing his lips with mine.

The surprise in his eyes quickly faded as he deepened the kiss, the world around us momentarily forgotten.

As we pulled away, I whispered against his lips. “Claim me again, Talan. I am yours.”

Before he could get to his feet, I straddled him and buried my lips on his.

He tasted sweet, like ripe fruit.

His cock was hard and pressed against my sex through the material of my jumpsuit.

He had been so patient with me, had never forced me to mate with him if I didn’t wish it.

We had done it once before and it was magical, and even then he had let me be the one to instigate it.

But now we were out of options.

Not only that, Iwantedto mate with him.
