“Oh yeah? Who’s going to stop us?”

Peace and the rest of the police force form a line in front of us. I’m afraid the three men won’t be enough to hold back the fans. Don’t get me wrong. I love our fans. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love to do – play music – but this situation is not under control.

Before I can order the band to make a run for it, my other half-brothers join the line. They cross their arms over their chests and glare at the crowd.

“We’ll stop you,” Miller grumbles.

“No one is attacking my brother,” Damon declares.

“Even if he isn’t a twin.” Riley glances over his shoulder and winks at me.

At their words, a hole I didn’t realize existed in my chest begins to fill. My brothers – mybrothers– don’t hate me for being a bastard their dad created when he stepped out on their mom. They care aboutme.

They told me as much before, but I didn’t believe them. Not until this moment when they’re protecting me. I’ve never had a sibling to protect me before.

“Brother?” Jett asks.

“Surprise! I found my dad.” I motion to the line of my brothers. “And my family.”

“About time you realized we’re your family,” Elder says.

“You’re part of the Bragg Brother Bunch now,” Brody adds.

Hell yeah, I am. And damn proud of it, too.

“No wonder Dylan was talking about your family,” Gibson mutters.

Peace places a metal box on the ground and people line up to throw their phones in it. Within minutes, the crowd has dispersed and hardly anyone is paying attention to us. My brothers salute me before heading off.

“See you at the next family dinner,” Damon calls.

“The story of how you found your family will have to wait. I have business to attend to.” Gibson nods toward the group of women across the street who keep peeking at us from beneath their eyelashes before marching toward them.

Jett chases after him. “Don’t forget me.”

Fender sighs before following them.

“You good?” Dylan asks. At my nod, he grins. “Excellent. I have a librarian to find.”

“I guess it’s just you and me.” I smile down at Indy but she’s frowning.

“What’s wrong? I swear this isn’t a normal occurrence. You don’t have to worry about your safety when you’re with me. I will always protect you.”

She blows out a breath. “I’m not afraid,” she claims but she won’t look at me.

I pinch her chin and force her to meet my gaze. “Then, what is it?”

She stays quiet for a long time until I’m convinced she isn’t going to answer. “We need to talk.”

Everything in me screamsNO!We are not having any kind of discussion that begins with her saying the words ‘the talk’. She is not dumping me. Not after I’ve finally won her back and we’ve begun again.

I inhale a deep breath and force myself to calm down before I end up yelling. Yelling won’t do me any good.

“Let’s find somewhere private.”

I’ll let her have her say and then I’ll convince her she’s wrong.
