We take the elevator up to the top floor and exit into a hallway with a door on the left side and a door on the right side. The one on the right says 1209 in gleaming gold above the door.

“Here we are.”

Silvan takes a key out of the folder and uses it to open the door.

“Where is here, exactly?” I murmur as he steps inside, and I follow.

My eyes widen as I step into a beautifully decorated apartment. It’s massive with light-colored hardwood floors, marble accents, and gleaming white surfaces everywhere I look.

Off to the right is a dining area, a huge kitchen with white marble countertops, and a marble island. There’s a wine cooler behind the table and a second sink and counter area for making drinks.

Across the open floor plan room on our right is a seating area, white leather couches with a gray fur blanket thrown over the back. A white marble table sits between the couches with an ottoman in front and a big-screen TV on the wall it’s facing.

Beyond that seating area, I see a second living area with plush gray couches set up in front of a white marble fireplace, but what steals my attention is the wall of windows to my right. There are no window treatments so you can see out to the view of Boston Commons and the city skyline.

I stop in front of the window to look out at downtown, my jaw open.

Silvan comes up behind me and locks his arms around my waist. “Nice view, huh?”

“I’ll say.”

“Come on.” He takes my hand and pulls me through the living area with the gray couches toward the hallway.

There are four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a study. One of the bedrooms has a couple of built-in shelves, though, and he says we could make that one my study if I wanted to.

My study?

I’m hesitant as he leads me back down the hall toward the main area.

“So, do you like it?”

“Of course I like it.” I’d have to be crazy not to like it. “It’s beautiful.”

“It’s ours if we want it.”

I tear my gaze away from the view out the window to look back at him. “What?”

His lips tug up. “Turns out, the idea of even one night without you in my bed… I’m not into it. My dad thought we might like to have our own place a little closer to school. He owns this building, and this unit happened to be available, so…”

“You want to move in together?” I demand, somehow shocked despite my more logical side telling me every single thing I know about him should have led me to franklyexpectthis lunacy.

I can’t move in with him. I’ve barely swallowed agreeing todatehim.

But do I really have a choice?

His dad is giving us his stamp of approval letting us live here, and yeah, it’s a gorgeous apartment, more than I ever dreamed of, but…

“Silvan, do you really think we’re ready to move in together?”

“I know it’s fast, but I like having you in my bed every night. And your living situation is far from ideal.” He comes upbehind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me back against him. “Can you really tell me you’d rather live in a shared bedroom with three roommates than here with me?”

No.

Not without lying my ass off anyway.

“You liked spending the weekend with me, didn’t you?”

“Yes,” I murmur. “But don’t you think…”
