“Stella!” Fingers snap in front of my face, and I’m vaguely aware of Gabe in front of me, waving his hand. “Hey! Are you okay?”

“I…” I sniff, overwhelmed. We’re already at the Hummer, ready to go back to the cabin.

“Stella?” Now it’s Bennet, his intense green eyes inches from mine. “Did something happen?”

I need to get my head together.

“I’m sorry. I was just thinking,” I tell them. At least that much is true. “How did your meetings go?”

“Stupid,” Gabe says.

“Unnecessary,” Bennet agrees.

“Pointless,” Forrest concludes. “I have no idea what that was all about.”

I do. The point was to bring me in. They had distracted the men to get to me.

“How about yours? Are they giving you a pay bump for being the glue that holds this team together?” Gabe teases, leaning in to kiss me softly on the lips.

I gasp at his forwardness, but we have no cameraman in the car, and the partition is up between us and the driver.

“Are you sure you’re all right, Heartbreaker?” Gabe asks as he pulls back. “You seem really distracted.”

“I just want to get back to the cabin and spend the day with you guys,” I tell them, urging the Hummer to get to the airport faster.

“Amen to that!” Forrest concedes, flopping his blond head back on the headrest.

“You know what I’m doing when we get back?” Gabe whispers in my ear.

“Chopping down more trees?” I jest, already feeling better in their company.

“No. I’m going to give you a full body massage.”

I bite on my lower lip as he starts to work at my shoulders.

“I could get in on that action,” Forrest pipes in. “Four hands are better than two, after all.”

In spite of all my stress, I feel a surge of heat between my legs at the suggestion. I flick my eyes toward Bennet, who grins mischievously. “I could watch,” he offers, and the men groan at him. I’m secretly amused.

On the plane, I barely hear the banter amongst the men, but I do accept the drink that Bennet pours for me, his dark green eyes pensive as he watches me closely. He can sense something wrong with me, but I don’t breathe a word all the way back to Montana.

As we return to the cabin, I’ve almost put the terrible meeting out of my mind, especially when I’m ordered upstairs immediately to change and meet everyone by the pool in ten minutes.

“I’ll get the drinks,” Forrest calls out.

“I’ll get the oil,” Gabriel says.

“I’ll start the hot tub,” Bennet volunteers.

I hurry to change, my eyes trailing to the corners of the house, again trying to remember what we could have possibly done that they might have seen. My mind tracks back to the conversation I’d had about the in-house cameras with Jessie when we had agreed to stay.

“Are there cameras in the cabin?”Forrest had asked.

“Only in the common areas,”Jessie had replied. “Not in the bathrooms or bedrooms, obviously.”

So what could the producers have seen? The four of us being affectionate? Was that enough to ruin us if it was exposed? Not in this day and age. Anya had made it sound so much worse than that. Had they caught us when we were out on one of the outings?

I shiver again, trying to shrug off this futile game. I should have asked to see their evidence. Maybe it was all a big bluff to get me to do what they wanted, and I was falling right into their trap.
