His gaze is dark and hungry, and my heart races. To play along, I open my mouth. Eros only places half of the strawberry beyond my teeth. I bite, and it feels like the most erotic thing I have done in ages.

Then, Eros pops the rest of the berry into his mouth and savors it with a quiet moan. His thumb quickly comes back down to wipe some of the juice from my lips.

His golden eyes glow in the dim light, and I swear he stares at me like he wants to devour me next. Wow, he’s a great actor.

Carl clears his throat and announces, “I think I’m going to bed after all.”

“Night,” Eros says over his shoulder without taking his eyes off me.

My face heats, as well asotherplaces. I suppose I’m not as immune to his powers as I thought. Maybe it’s because I have suppressed my love and sexuality for so long. I have a libido, however muted in recent years, so something was bound to trigger me. Apparently, it’sThe Princess Brideand feeding me strawberries.

Once Carl is locked away in his bedroom, I sigh. “That was very convincing.” I try to pull away from Eros, but he doesn’t move his arm.

“Where are you going?” he asks curiously.

“We don’t need to, you know, act like a couple now,” I whisper.

“You don’t like me holding you?”

“I… It’s… nice,” I admit, my eyes going everywhere but to the god. “But your attention is kind of intense, and the way you can exude all that desire on cue.”

Eros frowns and nods. “Sorry, I guess I can be too much.”

I reach out and hold his hand, which has fallen to his thigh. “No need to be sorry. It feels wonderful, and you’re selling the fiancé role to Carl. If this plan works, I suppose I need to get used to attention.”

His hand clasps mine. “And I’ll need to get used to him giving you his attention.”

“But how did you know some of my favorite movies? Was it a lucky guess? Or am I that predictable?”

“You mentioned it on your social media profile.” Eros boops my nose and then pops another strawberry into his mouth.

I flush pink. “You’re stalking me on social media?”

“Maybe a little bit.” He shrugs.

Yeah, no… having him follow me on the internet is somehow weirder than him offering me a job or sleeping next to me every night.

“Do you have a regular cell phone, or is it like a god version?” I pout as I realize something. “Hold up… Why haven’t you given me your number?”

“I haven’t left your side for you to need it,” Eros says. “And to answer your first question, it’s an enhanced cell phone. No matter where I go, it works.”

“Anywhere?” I say with awe. “Likeanywhere, anywhere?”

“Yep.” He looks pleased that I’m impressed.

“Can I see it?” I say with hopeful glee.

Eros removes the cell phone from his pocket, but before he lets me have it, he pulls it away from my grasp. “Oh no, the mortal’s too slow,” he taunts. “You can’t beat a god.”

Feeling playful, I jump to grab it from his hand. He holds it away the farthest he can reach with his long arms. I land on his lap with my legs straddling him, but I don’t think about anything other than getting my prize. I’m determined to get his cell phone from him to see what kind of phone a god owns, but I must accomplish it before he magics it away.

He arches his back, his arm reaching even farther behind him over the back of the couch.

I lean forward, tipping as I lose my balance, and unwittingly press my breasts into his face, practically smothering him. I hear a groan, and then I realize what I’ve done.

How embarrassing.

I attempt to pull away, but I’m off-center and essentially lying on top of him.
