“We can do things remotely.”
“Everyone else is already here.” I tell him what he already knows. The band has already made the move. I don’t know why Cash is so hesitant.
“You chose New York. You’ve only done one year of—”
“I can transfer—and I might have chosen New York, but I’m choosing you now and forever. I want this. Besides,” I nibble my lip as I dance away from him into the sunspot that beams into the living room. “Saint and Nemosis are going to love this apartment. The windows and sunbathing those two are gonna do. If we do this for nothing else, we should do it for them.”
“For our cats?” Cash raises one darkly amused brow.
“Absolutely.” I beam. “For our fur babies.”
His eyes drop to my belly, “And what about real babies?”
My breath catches and my heart flutters as I promise, “They’ll come along eventually.”
“Where’s my kiss, Kitten?”
“Ready and waiting as soon as you sign the contract.” I shoot him a wide grin—the very one that I know melts him every time. “I don’t want to lose my new home.”
“Then it’s yours.” He pulls out his phone and signs the contract, the sound of the whoosh echoing in the empty space. “Done and delivered, Kitten. Now, where’s my kiss?”
I don’t make him ask again, another deal with my devil is officially signed and sealed.
