Biff grunted, clutching the incubus closer to his chest in a possessive gesture as he muttered, “Lopsided nuts, though.”

I slipped into the bedroom and heard the shower running, so I made my way into the bathroom. “Sorry,” I said ruefully to Holt. “I should’ve warned you.”

He waved a hand, flashing me a sleepy grin. “S’okay.”

“Pretty wild night, huh?” I chuckled, perching on the closed lid of the toilet.

“Well, it says ‘Fuck HotSex Corp’ on my stomach, so I’m going to say yes.” Holt smiled at me again as he lathered shampoo into his hair. “You feeling okay, babe?”

“I’m fine.” I set our cups down on the edge of the sink and wiped my palms down my thighs. “A little nervous.”

“The moment you quit, we’ll go back to my place and fuck like bunnies.” He shot me a hesitant, uncertain look. “I mean, unless you… You don’t have to quit, Taylor.”

“No, I want to.” I licked my lips. “And I want to do it today. I want to get started at Goliaths.”

He beamed at me, scrubbing his armpits. “I can’t fucking wait, babe. And not just because your ideas will make the club a tonne more money. Your office is right near mine, just down the hall. I’ll be able to come and bug you whenever I want.”

I chuckled. “You won’t be bugging me.”

“I’ve already bought another Fleshlight for your office.” He gave me a coy smirk.

My pulse leaped, my cock twitching in my slacks. Well. Working with Holt was definitely going to be far more… stimulating than HutSec Corporation.

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Quittin’ Time

Getting to the office was a unique, interesting experience.

Somehow, defying the laws of physics, we all managed to cram into my car. Holt was in the front with me. Gabe, Biff and Heidi took up the back seat, uncomfortably squashed together. Kit spent the entire journey clinging to the ceiling—I was pretty sure they actually fell asleep during the drive. Dan and Vince slotted themselves into the trunk, and the muffled sound of their bickering was our soundtrack for the journey.

“Dan, get your damn knee away from my nuts.”

“Then stop sitting on my fucking head! Your bony ass is squishing my nose.”

“I can’t. Fucking. Move. Dipshit—” There were a few brief slapping sounds as the car rocked, before the pair settled down again. Until we heard a repetitive, muffled thud, followed by the ghoul snickering and saying, “Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself.”

“I’m not, goddamnit! You’re hittin’ me. Let go of my arm, dickhead.”

“Boys,” Biff barked, slapping the cargo cover to quiet them down, his arm draped behind Gabe’s shoulders. There were some hissed whispers before they fell silent.

“Can they… breathe in there?” I asked nervously, sweating at the thought of cops spotting us.

“Neither of them need to breathe, which is why they got sent to the trunk,” Gabe told me with a snicker.

“Oh,” I said faintly. “Okay.”

“I’m starving,” Heidi declared, smacking Gabe in the chest with her knuckles. “Lupe’s?”

“Hell yes. You two comin’?” he asked me and Holt.

I shook my head. “Got work.”

“Last day though, right?” He leaned forward to jovially grasp my shoulder. “Then you’ll be one of the Goliaths. Holt’s already told us some of your ideas. It’s gonna be sick.”

Holt smiled at me, reaching over to squeeze my thigh. I grinned at him, then glanced in the rearview mirror to smile at Gabe.

“I’m looking forward to it,” I told him, then checked the time on the dash. “I can drop you all off at the diner. We have time.”
