“Prizes?”

“We are having a party on our bus after the show.”

“Sure. Abbey knows she is more than welcome to attend parties. I thought you would ask for something more.”

I can feel Wes’s eyes on me, and I shrug, still unable to look away from the container. It smells stronger now that it’s in front of me. I can smell a hint of spice and a lot of cheese.

“And we’d like you to reconsider her spending some time on my bus during the next drive.”

“She threw up.”

“I know. I was there. It wasn’t on purpose.”

I force myself to glance up to see Sue staring at me. She doesn’t speak for a moment, just studying me, and I force myself to peel the top off the container, following Wes’s lead. The smell is even stronger now, and my stomach twists into bigger knots, but I know I have to eat this for my freedom.

“She has to eat everything I put in front of her until we leave tomorrow night.”

I am overly aware she didn’t say every meal, but everything. She is going to be pushing me to my limits.

“And.” She goes on. “You have to promise me you’ll watch her while she is on your bus. She needs to eat. Any more throwing up and I will no longer be allowing you two alone time.”

“I will watch her.”

“Deal.” I add, not that it seems like I have much say in the matter.

I force myself to pick up my fork and dig in. Eating my food silently, I chew each bite thoroughly. Wes is done with his meal before I’m even halfway done with my serving. Pasta is an unfair move and I’m beginning to regret making the deal, but I look at Wes and know I have to at least try.

“Pasta is a little much.”

“A deal is a deal.”

“Her stomach has to be the size of a fist. She can’t possibly eat all of it.”

She looks at me, then at him, and then back at me. “She made the deal.”

I nod and continue eating. I’m feeling extremely full by the time I’m down to two more bites. I’m stuffed and hate it. Wes rubs my thigh under the table.

“Almost there.”

I take the last two bites and quickly chew and swallow them.

“Good girl." He whispers in my ear, giving my thigh a squeeze. “I have to go get ready, but I’ll see you inside.”

“Okay.” He kisses my cheek before sliding out of the booth. “Bye.”

“See you soon.”

“You know, I’m glad you went with him over, Skylar. I don’t think I could’ve trusted Skylar as much as I trust Wes.” Sue admits and slides two vials my way.

I don’t tell her I still have some left over from last time. Now I had enough coke to get me through the night and then some.

“Shall we head inside so you can get ready?” She asks as I put the vials in my pocket. I nod, getting up.

I’m puttingthe finishing touches on my makeup when there is a knock on my dressing room door. I get up from the vanity and open it, knowing it's probably Wes.

“Hello beautiful.” Wes’s deep voice carries in front of him, as he steps his foot into my room. “The show is about to start.”
