We talk about the songs we are working on. He shares a few lyric changes he has made to a song he has been struggling with for the last few days.
“Ben has tweaked the riff for the bridge a little. I still think it’s too slow.” Wes says. Ben and him have been spending a lot of time together, going over the new songs. They’ve recorded some demo samples on programs Ben has on his computer.
“A drop in tempo can be good for bridges, though.”
“Yeah. I guess.” He shrugs.
“You just like things to be fast and upbeat, but a little darkness is good for the soul.”
“Yeah?” He laughs. “You’re my little darkness then.”
“And you’re my light.” My lips curl up into a big smile.
“Yin to my yang.”
“My better half.”
“No. You are definitely my better half.” He smiles, placing his hand on my thigh.
“I don’t know about that.”
“Trust me. You make my life immensely better.” He squeezes my thigh. “I love you so much, Abbey.”
