“As I thought earlier, Bristol does indeed have a concussion. Her wrist is broken, we had to go in and repair it. She also has a few broken ribs, which I’m sure is due to the debris she was buried under. Overall, she was lucky it didn’t puncture a lung. We also had to go in and remove her spleen.” Stella goes on to explain what they were doing for her now and that she should soon be in a room rather than recovery. Turning to Reaper, she narrowed her gaze. “My husband, on the other hand, is already in a room and knows I’m not pleased with him.” Again, she goes over the details of what they’ve had to do for him by going in and repairing the damage Giselle did to him with that knife of hers. “Now, I’m going to go back to Angel’s room because I’m tired and exhausted. You can send someone to get me a tea and meal from Spuds.”

“You got it,” Reaper remarks. “I’ll be up soon as I call and check in with Ivy.” He hadn’t let any of the ol’ ladies come up here after what went down. He even sent Styxx and Diablo back to his house to watch over them.

Stella nods and leaves the way she came.

I turn toward my brothers and wait for whatever Reaper’s going to say.

Glancing around at each of us, he murmured the words I knew were coming. “Those three might be in custody, but there’s more to this. We all know it. The Scarlet Needles are behind thisin some way, shape or form, and I’m sick of it. This is the final straw. They want a war, they’ve got it. Anyone object?”

“With you,” I growl, more than ready to go after them. To spill their blood for once.

Each of my brothers that are here make their agreements known, and Reaper nods.

“Good, let’s get Bristol and Angel out of here and healed. Until then, we’ll rebuild the clubhouse and start planning,” Reaper remarks.

“Quick question,” Tombstone says gruffly. “What the fuck are we going to do with the bitch we had taken to the cabin?”

“Harvester and Thanatos, you two can take care of her. Find out if there’s anything else she might know, then discard her body where she’ll never be found,” Reaper orders, turns, and starts toward the elevator, done with the conversation.

“Find out if she has anything else to say about my Swedish relatives or if it was all Cordell giving her the ammo she needed to get under our skin,” I mutter and also head for the elevator, more than ready to see my woman, and to know that she’s okay.

CHAPTER 21

BRISTOL

The first thing that I realize when I come to is that I’m in the hospital and can hear Beast talking softly to me. My body hurts. I don’t think there’s a part of me that doesn’t feel a bit of pain.

Memories come back to me about what happened, and panic starts to seep in. Is everyone okay? Was anyone else hurt? Beast was out there with the first explosion.

“Sheesh, Butterfingers, you’re okay,” Beast murmurs, having picked up on the fact I’m awake, though I haven’t opened my eyes yet.

Slowly, I peek through my lower lashes to meet Beast’s dark gaze. I notice immediately that we’re not alone. Not far behind him is my brother, and on the other side of the bed sits my dad.

“What are you doing here?” I croak, my throat dry, and it feels like razor blades were in it.

“Here, baby, drink this,” Beast says, holding a small cup with the straw pointed at my lips. “You’ve been asleep for the past three days.”

Three days.

Oh God.

“Was anyone else hurt?” I whisper, finishing taking a couple sips, unable to get the thought out of my head.

“Just some bumps and bruises,” Beast answers, setting the cup back down, his eyes never leaving me. “But I’m not going to lie to you because you have the right to know. Giselle is dead.”

“What?” I barely get the word out as I find it hard to believe.

“She tricked you, Bristol.” It’s my dad who answers, getting my attention, and I see the pain in his features. “She and your mother were in on whatever they were trying to do. To get to you and try to drive you away so they could find a way to control you, they set this all up. Giselle stabbed one of the members of the club and was going to kill Beast.” Shaking his head, he closes his eyes. “I’m sorry, sweetheart, but it’s over now.”

“She tricked me?” A part of me doesn’t want to believe it, but another does. She was always close to my mom. Some would say thick as thieves.

God, how could I be so foolishly blind?

Tears prick my eyes, and I suck in a breath to keep them from shedding. I won’t cry, not for her.

“This is all my fault,” I whisper, my thoughts going to the very fact that this all happened to the club because of me.

“Don’t even think that shit, baby,” Beast remarks harshly. “This isn’t on you, and no one blames you.”
