Six months.
That’s how long it’s been since the club was attacked, and we nearly lost my brother’s woman. It’s a damn good thing Beast didn’t lose her, though otherwise, we would have lost him as well. Seeing the love between the two of them, knowing Bristol has given my brother what he’s needed for as long as I’ve known him, opens something inside me that I thought was dead all this time.
With the clubhouse now rebuilt, we’ve upped the security and remodeled what needed to be done. The ol’ ladies were happy about it since they got to upgrade the kitchen and get new furnishings for the main room.
At the same time, we’ve also been doing a shit ton to take on the Scarlet Needles. One of those things is we’ve questioned Jezebel and used everything we could to ensure she didn’t hide anything else from us. It’s a good thing for her because we ended up letting her live. Though she’s still being housed in the cabin secured where no one can find her.
Because of her and what Giselle informed us, we were able to confirm Beast’s Swedish family had nothing to do with anything and that she was to fool him into thinking it was them behind everything. Cordell seemed to want Beast out of the way. For what, I don’t know for sure, but I know it’s more than just the money Bristol has in her name and trust.
But what no one knows is the shit that’s also been going on with me that I haven’t talked about. Not even with Beast. He’s got enough on his plate with Bristol.
No, what I’ve got needs to be handled personally without my brothers. If it’s not, then there’s more of a chance I could lose everything I finally have in my life. Then again, with my brothers, it might be easier, but I could end up losing everything.
It’s a gamble I’m not sure if I’m ready to take. However, it’s one I’ll have to take regardless.
There is a life at stake here. Not mine or anyone in the club, but someone, rather the only woman who’s ever touched me a way that rocked my world. Back then, she wasn’t a woman but just a girl who needed to be protected. She ran away long ago from a life she knew, only to be sent back to it. Now, she’s disappeared altogether, and I’m going to have to find her.
And do it before it’s too late.
