“Hey, I’m only thirty. But that deserves a punishment for later, Angel. Just wait and see what I have planned for you.” He smirks that lights a fire in my belly.

“You’ll have to catch me first!” I exclaim, climbing into the passenger side of the car. Grabbing my bag, I open the door.

“Text me when class is over. I’ll be right here,” he reminds me.

“Thank you.” I close the door and walk towards the building that my class is in. I have butterflies in my stomach at the thought of moving in with Sebastian, but I want to be spontaneous, and I want to live my life. So much has been taken from me that it’s time I takesomething for myself. This new chapter of my life is a blank canvas, and I can’t wait to see the masterpiece it becomes.

Chapter 24

Sebastian

Stormy walks though the quad and into the building to the far right. I take note in case something happens, and she needs me. I have this bad feeling I can’t quite shake. As I crank the car, an incoming call comes through the speakers. Miles’ name flashes on the screen.

“What’s up brother,” I answer.

“The funeral is set for Monday at eleven a.m.. Elijah was able to make the necessary arrangements,” he states.

“Good, good. Thank you for taking over. I’ve had my hands full,” I explain.

“How is everything going with the press. Has Marcy been able to get things squared away?” Miles asks.

“Well, she was able to get the paparazzi removed from my penthouse. Other than that, the news is out there. There isn’t much she can do.” I shrug even though he can’t see me.

“How is Stormy doing with everything? How is everything going?” He asks.

“She convinced me to let her get out of the apartment and go to class. So, you tell me how it’s going.” Miles chuckles on the phone.

“Sounds like she is a handful, and she has you wrapped around her little finger,” he says.

“That she does. I thought the best thing for herwas to stay in the apartment. But no, here I am sitting at the campus waiting for her class to be over.” I sigh and rest my head back against the seat. “I just want her to be safe. I can’t let anything happen to her. Its driving me crazy. All the feelings and shit is for the birds.” Miles full on belly laughs at my admission and I’m about five seconds from hanging up on his ass.

“I told you that I couldn’t wait for the day this happened to you. Remember me saying that,” He pauses for a moment then continues, “In all seriousness, I know what it’s like. I went through this with Lizzie. I was a man possessed when I saw her ex putting his hands on her. Keeping them safe is our number one priority. We got possessive genes from dad.”

“I didn’t understand you falling for her so fast until it happened to me. But don’t get me wrong, she still drives me crazy with the mouth she has on her.” Miles laughs again and I join in.

“Man, we have it bad,” he replies.

“Yeah, I guess we do,” I agree.

“Have you talked to Thomas? I haven’t had the time to call him,” I admit.

“Yeah, I talked to him earlier today. His brother and his wife got into town and are staying with him which is good because I didn’t want him to be alone. I would have offered for him to stay with us, which I still might depending on how long his brother stays.”

“Stormy scheduled meals to be delivered to him for the next week. So, he should be good in that department,” I state.

“Alright, seems like everything is taken care of for now. I was checking in. Call if you need anything,” Miles says, as I hear Lizzie say something in the background. That’s probably why he is getting off of the phone.

“Will do, bro. Love you, man.”

“Hey, I love you too. The feelings will get easier. You just aren’t used to having any,” he laughs.

“Har Har Har, very funny.” I roll my eyes.

“Don’t get into any more trouble. We’ll have to give Marcy a raise,” He remarks.

“I can’t promise anything,” I smirk.

“Alright then, talk soon.” Miles hangs up and I begin scrolling through emails from work. Missing a day has filled up my inbox, not to mention I haven’t had Stormy filter through them. After responding to a few, I decide to text Stormy. She probably won’t answer, but it’s worth a shot.
