“You look as stunning as ever. How about we get out of here.” She nods and we say our goodbyes. We save Thomas for last because I want more people to have cleared out by the time we get to him. Thomas sees us coming and he excuses himself from who he is speakingwith.

“Thank you for being here. It means the world to me and also I know Marie was happy you came.” He says.

“There is no other place we would have rather been today.” I reply.

“Thank you for all the arrangements. The lilies were the best part. I’m not sure how you found so many but thank you.” He responds.

“Stormy was in charge of the flowers.” I squeeze her hand in mine.

“Thank you, Miss Brooks. It was truly magical.” He takes his hand and places it over hers. I love how welcoming everyone has been of Stormy. I didn’t think anyone would be, it’s just nice to see the support I have.

“You are more than welcome. It was my pleasure. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do.” She remarks.

“You’ve got a good one here, Sebastian. Don’t let her go.” He winks and then he’s off talking to the next person in line.

“I don’t have any intention of letting you go.” I say to Stormy.

“Good. I wouldn’t want to burn your apartment down.” She smirks.

“You mean our apartment.” I mention as she blushes and nods. Holding her hand, I lead her to my car, opening the door for her and buckling her inside. I run around to my side and slide in. “How about we take a drive until it’s time to be at my mother’s house for dinner?” I ask as I crank the engine. Small snow flurries begin to cover the windshield.

“I would like that.” Stormy confesses as we pull out of the parking lot and head down the road.

Chapter 32

Stormy

We arrive at Sebastian’s childhood home a few hours later. It’s a gated entry that requires a code. Once inside, we drive down a long driveway with beautiful trees lining the road. Snowdrop plants sprinkle the grounds and is a beautiful sight amongst the falling snow. As we pull up to the house, I am amazed by its beauty. It’s a tall sweeping estate with a homey feel. Sebastian parks the car and comes around to let me out. A cobble stone path leads to the front steps and Amelia is there to greet and welcome us to her home.

“Welcome, welcome you two.” Amelia brings me in for a hug then does the same with Sebastian. He leans over and kisses her cheek.

“Thanks for having us, Mother.” He responds.

“Thank you, Amelia. We brought some wine to go with dinner.” I gave her the bottle that we stopped to pick up on the way. It was my idea because Sebastian said we didn’t need to bring anything. That’s a man for you.

“How sweet of you, dear. Well come inside and get out of this cold weather.” She gestures toward the door, and we step through. Immediately, I’m blasted with the most wonderful homecooked smell. Something I haven’t had the pleasure of in a very long time. I inhale a deep breath and smile

Sebastian comes up to me and takes my jacket. I shimmy out of it, as he hangs it in the closet by the door. He takes his off and does the same, joining me in the kitchen.

“Something smells wonderful.” I remark, looking around at the source.

“Mother is the best cook, unless you count grandmother. She taught her everything she knows.” Sebastian whispers in my ear.

“I heard that, darling. But it’s true. She did teach me everything I know while I was growing up in Italy.” She supplies as she takes a large spoon and begins mixing something in a very large crockpot. “I knew we were going to have a busy day, so I put all the ingredients in here this morning. Having it simmer all day makes the flavor ten times better. I’ll be serving Italian beef stroganoff and garlic bread.” His mother announces.

“That sounds wonderful. I’ve never had that before. Do you need any assistance in the kitchen?” I inquire.

“No, definitely not. Sebastian why don’t you open this bottle of wine and take Stormy on a tour of the house.” She responds.

“Sure.” He answers. Taking the automatic bottle opener and placing it over the wine we brought, it drills down and pulls the cork from the bottle. After filling two glasses, Sebastian hands one over me.

“Thank you.” I say with a smile.

“You’re welcome. Come with me.” He takes my hand in his as we leave the kitchen. “Where would you like to start?” He questions.

“I actually want to see the room you grew up in.” Ianswer. He twirls me around and brings me to his chest. I squeal out in laughter as I’m thrust against his hard masculine body. I’m careful not to spill my wine on us.

“My room, really? Out of everything here?” He asks with a grin.
