Lucy nodded and put it on speaker so she could wash the bowl hands free. "Yeah, do you remember the Ranger who took me home last weekend?"

"The hottie who I thought you were going to sleep with? Yeah, what about him?"

Lucy sighed, regretting not telling Taylor about all of it days ago. "Well, that was Mason. Nana's new step-grandson. The best man."

Taylor gasped. "What? Shut the front door. No, he wasn't."

"He was."

There was a beat of silence as she dried the bowl and found where it belonged.

"Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that after the wedding, you two stayed in the same house and nothing happened."

"Yep."

"Then he took you home last weekend and was asleep on the couch when I came in, so nothing happened again."

"Yep."

"And last night, the two of you were together for a private party." Taylor exaggerated the last words but Lucy grinned as she repacked her presents into the Santa bag.

"Yep."

"I swear to God, Luce, if you say nothing happened a third night in a row, I am going to strangle you when you get home."

Lucy went into the living room and sat on the couch. It still smelled like him. She laid down and cuddled the blanket with a smile. "Ok, then I won't tell you nothing happened."

"Wait, did something actually happen?"

"Well..." Lucy drawled.

Taylor must have slapped the table or something, then she almost yelled, "Lucinda Gail, you better tell me exactly what happened last night or so help me—"

Lucy laughed and started from opening presents at her grandma's house. Taylor squealed and oohed and ahhed while she talked, but otherwise didn't interrupt.

"And when I woke up, he was gone. Just a note that said Merry Christmas, and I'll call you."

Taylor was silent before she said quietly, "And how do you feel about it all? Are you upset he's gone?"

Lucy breathed and closed her eyes. "Do I wish he was still here? Sure. But it's honestly better this way. No awkward goodbyes. In theory, I'll see him at Easter, maybe Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I can face him by Easter, surely."

Taylor snorted. "I can't believe you. Your first real dick in years, and it's to your new cousin."

Lucy wrinkled her nose. "Ew, don't call him that. I don't even know him."

"Only in the Biblical sense," Taylor chuckled.

"I wish you were here so I could throw a pillow at you. He's my step-cousin."

Taylor's chuckle turned into a full laugh. "Yeah, yeah. Go wash off all the cum and get ready for your interview. You're going to rock it. And call me when you get out and are on your way home."

"Yes ma'am," Lucy said before hanging up. She felt a wave of disappointment that she still didn't know what Taylor was talking about with washing off all the cum. The condom had kept things pretty clean.

She tried not to think about it, but daydreaming and reliving it almost made her late to the interview with Katie.
