“Behind Finbar’s back?”

“Yeah…”

“Christ, that’s all kinds of wrong, fucked-up and hot. You’re my hero, man. Hero!”

He adjusts his trousers then fishes his phone from his pocket.

“What are you doing?”

He talks into the phone instead of answering me. “Siobhan? You home?” There’s a short pause. “Tell Mrs O’Neill to take the kids – it’s a fecking emergency! Then get up on the bed and take your clothes off. I’m coming home.” He ends the call without another word and grins at me. “She loves it when I go bossy on her.”

I shake my head in disbelief. “Are you seriously so turned on by your brother’s sex life that you need to go home and fuck your wife?”

“As horny as I am now, I’ll knock her up. If it’s a girl, I’ll call her Caitlin,” he says and starts walking down the lane.

“You only produce boys,” I call after him.

Sean turns and walks backwards while yelling, “I’ll name him Aidan!”

Jesus, I hope he doesn’t tell Siobhan why he’s so horny. I’ll never hear the end of it.

Caitlin

I’m so wound up, even the small mechanical click when the door lock is deactivated makes me jump. I’m beyond stressed about the jewellery show tomorrow. I’ve been feeling all kinds of funny and hardly been able to eat. Aidan said he would help me calm my nerves, and he gave me a key card and sent me up to this hotel room. He’ll join me shortly, he said. He’s so caring, always looking after me.

Timidly, I enter the room and slot the key in the wall holder. Muted lights illuminate the standard interior of the room, and my gaze zooms in on the bed. I can’t hold back the giggle, nor the clench in my stomach. I step closer and run my fingers over the black and white material. A naughty nun outfit! And not the plastic variety you see women in noisy hen parties wear as they drunkenly stumble down Grafton Street, but a proper cotton outfit. And really high-heeled shoes… A note sits next to it.

Wear this and only this…

I swallow tightly. Can I do this? I rush to strip out of my clothes before I can think twice about it. There’s no underwear.I read the note one more time. It says ‘only this…’,so I take mine off, and my bra too. I pull the dress over my head and push my arms through the long sleeves. The swishing of the short skirt around my thighs is so foreign. I step in front of the mirror. Mum would have a fit if she saw my legs this exposed. Holding on to the wall, I slip into the shoes. My legs seem so long! And how can anyone walk in shoes like this? But it does look kind of… sexy…

Only one more thing.

I take a deep breath and grab the veil. I smooth out the black material over my hair and adjust the white band to frame my face. There’s a coil of unease in my tummy, but that coil has little sparks of excitement sizzling from it, all the way down to my pantyless pussy.

My heart jumps at the sound of a click from the door.

I straighten, my pulse hammering. A dark figure emerges in the doorway.

“Aidan!” I laugh, then force my voice to turn firm. “I told you to never dress up as Father Murray!”

“I’m not Father Murray,” Aidan replies sternly and adjusts his white collar. He’s wearing his glasses. A shiver travels down my spine as his eyes rake down my body, pausing at the hem of the skirt. He licks his lips, and I glimpse a flash of his teeth. I press my legs together, swaying in the high heels. “I’m Father Byrne, and you, Sister Caitlin, have been sinning. I’ve heard you’ve put your hands under your nightdress.”

Blasphemy.

That’s the word echoing in my head. Oh, Lord. I can’t do this. This is wrong, so wrong. My beliefs, my teaching. I can’t do it. I lower my head and take a deep stuttered breath.

“Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.”

The words I whisper were not the ones I had planned to say, but I don’t take them back. This may be the worst form of blasphemy, but it’s blasphemy that has heat pulsing at my core.

Aidan steps further into the room, seeming taller in his tight black shirt and trousers that he fills much better than Father Murray. There would be a queue at the confession booth if Aidan ever decided to change profession.

“Tell me, my child, what have you done?”

I swallow tightly, my mouth dry. “I-I’ve had sinful thoughts, Father.”
