CHAPTER 14
WESLEY - 2 MONTHS LATER
I groan when the alarm on my phone goes off, and I reach for it without even bothering to open my eyes. Why do mornings exist?
I can feel Cooper’s warm body wrapped around me, his arm draped securely across my torso, his leg lying lazily across mine, pinning me in place. His warm breath ghosts over my neck and his nose is pressed to my cheek. All I want is to turn off the alarm and doze back off, snug and safe, cocooned in the warmth of my boyfriend’s body.
I’ve gotten used to falling asleep and waking up next to him. The past couple of months have been incredible and I’ve slept over three or four nights a week. We’ve gone on dates, and my parents hang out with Natalie so Cooper and I can get away without him being worried about her. We’ve been fucking like rabbits any chance we get, and since our tests all came back negative we’ve been doing it bare, which is fucking amazing! I never knew sex could be so incredible, that my heart could feel so full, but having nothing between us when Cooper takes me islike a new level of pleasure and intimacy, and I’m more in love with him than I thought was possible.
Our dates are simple. We’ve gone for drives, or rides together on his bike. That took some getting used to because I wasn’t used to riding a motorcycle, but it turns out, I love it. And straddling him while he sits on it and we make out like teenagers is also a lot of fun.
We’ve done picnics and gone for walks, and none of it has been extravagant or fancy, but I love it, because I’m with him. Waking up next to him is my favorite thing in the world, especially when he’s got himself wrapped around me. Although now that I’m awake I’m increasingly aware just how badly I need to pee.
I slowly and reluctantly open my eyes and extricate myself from Cooper’s embrace, hearing him let out a soft moan as I do. I bend down and press a soft kiss to his adorably tousled hair. It’s gotten longer and it’s in his eyes almost constantly, but I love the way it frames his gorgeous face, and how it feels when I run my fingers through it.
“I’m gonna take a shower,” I say, and Cooper murmurs something in response. I smile and head for the bathroom. Once I get out I go back across the hall and find Cooper just waking up.
“Your turn,” I say.
Cooper pads across the floor and slaps my ass on his way out the door. I grin and shake my head.
As I’m digging through my bag I realize I forgot underwear. Cooper’s will be big on me but I’ll have to make do. I’m shuffling through his dresser drawer when I find a pair of boxers and pull them out. But when I do, a piece of paper falls out with them. It flutters open as it lands on the floor. I bend to pick it up, andwhen I turn it over, the bold letters on the top make my heart stop.

There’s more but I don’t get to finish reading it because that’s when Cooper comes back into the room, startling me.
“What are you doing?” he asks, and I gasp, jerking my head up, as Cooper moves across the room and yanks the paper out of my hands. He folds it back up and shoves it back in the dresser drawer, slamming it shut. “You had no right to look at that,” he snarls. His muscles are tense and his eyes are fierce. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this angry.
“It was an accident,” I protest, my chest tightening.
“You don’t read someone else’s mail by accident, Wesley,” he retorts, his nostrils flaring.
“Hey, it wasn’t like I was snooping on purpose,” I say. “It fell out, and I picked it up and saw it.” I pause, and Cooper glances away. “Why wouldn’t you tell me?”
Cooper grits his teeth and runs his fingers through his hair. “Because it’s not your problem, Wesley.”
