“Is it better than what we were just doing ‘cause I liked that a lot,” he says, his eyes twinkling.

I chuckle and flush. How does he still do that to me? “It’s for work.”

“Oh?” Cooper says as I walk over to the nightstand on my side of the bed. I come back and hand him a small rectangular box.

“It’s not much, but I figured you could take it with you, maybe, and it would remind you of me, and also let you know how much I love you.”

Cooper takes it and kisses my forehead before he even opens it. “I already love it and I don’t even know what it is,” he says, and my heart melts, because I know he means it. He’d like a used sock if it came from me.

He takes it and slides the lid off the top. Inside is a keychain with a beautiful sunset view of a mountain peak and the words,The best view comes after the hardest climb ~ anonymous.

I’m surprised to see tears fill his eyes as he takes it out and holds it in his hand, so carefully, almost as if it’s made of glass and not plastic. And then he’s gripping my face in his big, rough hands and kissing me.

“Thank you,” he whispers, his forehead pressed to mine. I feel his breath ghosting over my face. “I love it.” He kisses me again. “I have something for you, too.”

Now my eyebrows go up because I have no idea why he would be getting something for me on his first day of work, or what it could possibly be. He takes two long strides over to our dresser and pulls the top drawer open. Reaching in, he takes out a box almost identical to the one I gave him, and my eyebrow raises.

“Looks like we had similar ideas,” he says, handing it to me. I look at him for a second before opening it. I burst out laughing. Holy fucking shit. My husband got me a keychain that saysThanks for all the orgasms. Here I was thinking it was going to be sentimental and sappy. I go to him and hug him tightly as I laugh.

“Glad you like it,” he says, his strong arms around me. “I’m expecting to get to thank you again tonight.” He grins at me and I’m blushing again as a giggle escapes my lips. I press up on my tiptoes once again to kiss him. He moans as my tongue slidesinto his mouth. I feel his hands on my ass cheeks, squeezing and kneading, and I moan in response.

“Okay, that’s enough.” He pulls away. “You are a very naughty husband.” I grin as he adjusts himself.

“You’ll call me when you get to your hotel?” I step close again and wrap my arms around his waist.

“Of course.” He brushes my nose with the tip of his own. “And if you are very good, I’ll even let you listen while I jerk off.”

I hum. “Only if I can jerk off too.”

“Deal,” he says. We kiss again.

“Okay, now you really do have to go or you’ll get fired before you start.”

Cooper’s eyes widen when he looks at his phone. “Shit,” he says, and grabs his suitcase and hat.

“Wait!” I grab my phone and follow him out the front door.

He throws his luggage haphazardly in the trunk of our new car and slams it shut. “I have to go,” he says hurriedly, and kisses me again.

“Not before I take your picture.” He groans but complies, standing next to the driver-side door while I snap a photo. God he looks handsome. I lick my lips, thinking about the fun phone sex we’ll be having later tonight, but I tell my cock to settle when it begins to harden. I can’t be sporting a boner in my driveway in my very thin pajama pants.

“I love you.” I give him one last kiss.

“I love you, too,” he says, and then he climbs into the car, and I watch as he drives away.

My Cooper.

The man I love. The man I married. The man I lost and got back twice, was separated from for nine years. The man I fought for, and will always fight for. The man I will choose every single day, over and over again for the rest of my life. The kindest, bravest, most amazing man I’ve ever known. My husband, the pilot.

The End
