TT nodded. “I mean, Ace is a LOT like his father, which means both of them can be stubborn. Tank and Diesel can sometimes level out Dasan, give him some perspective. But Ace... it's a good chance he'll be on the same page as Dasan if he wants you dead.”

Milan sighed. “Yeah, neither of them seemed to care for me all that much.”

“You managed to do something that hadn't been done in a very long time. Infiltrate our ranks. We pride ourselves on being able to spot rats, but you... Milan... you played us good,” TT said.

Milan winced because those words hurt him, especially coming from Tim. The last thing he wanted was to hurt him. “I'm sorry,” he said.

Tim looked at him for a few seconds then leaned over, kissing his man. “I know you are. What matters now is what you're going to do to prove to the club that you're one of us. They're giving you a chance, which is good.”

“They gave me a week to do so. No help from you or Dragon,” Milan said.

“Can you do it?”

“Kill someone? Yes. I've killed people in my time in the military and working for the DEA,” Milan said.

“In cold blood, though?” TT asked him in a low voice.

“Yes, but not in the way that you mean. In the past, I did whatever I was told to complete my mission. It was just that back then, I felt that I was doing it for my country. But all of our conversations about what is right or wrong... well, you've given me a different perspective. My worldview was never fully black or white, I've always seen the shades of gray. Just now, I'm leaning more toward the black side. I think I have to come to terms with that.”

“Can you?” TT asked him. “If you can't, then don't do it. I won't have you resenting me.”

Milan shook his head. “No, I'd never blame you.”

“Or my club.”

“This is on me, Tim. You all took me in, kept your word, protected me, and treated me like I was one of you. I betrayed all of you, you owe me nothing. I have to make this right.”

“Yeah, but if you can't handle what's being asked—”

“I can and will handle it. As long as you never leave me. That, I won't be able to handle,” Milan confessed.

TT grabbed him by the back of his neck and pulled him close, their mouths locked together for a kiss that sent all the passionate tingles throughout Milan's body. It wasn't until a CO called out to them that they had to reluctantly pull away.

“I'm never going to fucking leave you,” Tim said. “You're mine.”

“Then there's nothing I can't do for you,” Milan promised.

Milan watched the guard that was his target standing outside of the shower room. In fact, he'd been watching him for a whole month. Of course, in the beginning, he'd wondered if he should report him to his superiors considering the asshole was a dirty CO. He was happy that he'd held off going that route. He knew the man's schedule, knew who he spoke to, and knew how cheap he was to buy. He tossed glances the man's way as he showered and thought about the best opportunity he'd have to do what he needed to do. It might very well be down to his life or the guard’s, and if Milan had to choose, he was picking himself every time.

“You're going to do it today?” TT asked from the next stall over as he bathed.

“Sooner rather than later. I only have a few days. I don't want to wait until the last minute in case things go wrong,” Milan said, then turned off the water.

“Dragon will be watching the spot you told him about.”

“Yeah, they need to see me do it.”

“I wish I could help you,” TT said, then ended his shower.

“I know. I've got this,” Milan kissed him quickly, then both men left the shower area. He'd managed to get maybe two hours of sleep the previous night, which was a blessing considering how active his mind had been with thoughts racing through it. He had resolved himself to carrying out this particular hit. Fact of the matter was, this CO was a bad guy—plain and simple. A bad guy with government authority was the worst kind. The hypocrisy left a bad taste in Milan's mouth. At least he was about to quit being a cop whereas these assholes did their crimes all the while pretending to uphold the law.

He knew the ranks of law enforcement were tainted from top to bottom and after hearing about the cops who'd kidnapped and raped one of the Lords prospects, Ahiga, he knew why the Lords lived by their own rules. It wasn't the police who saved Kenshin. It was Ace and the rest of the Lords. It wasn't another CO who saved him that day when he was attacked. It was Tim.

His decision was made.

It was after lunch when he walked by the CO, making sure to catch his brown eyes with the color of green in his hand. The CO took a quick look around, then followed Milan to wherever the man was taking him. Before this moment, Milan had scoped out the prison, looking for the best place to kill a piece of shit guard. When he'd told Dragon he'd do it and for Dragon to tell his president he'd make a kill, he began doing the groundwork. He knew this was inevitable if he wanted to stay alive and be with Tim. Even if the Lords didn't kill him, he'd either have to break up with Tim or TT would have to leave his club.
