This entire past monthhas been amazing. Instead of constantly thinking about Hank and how he’d feel about all of it, I’ve focused all of my concentration on building our lives here.

Gabe and I have spent a lot more nights together, in and out of bed. All of it has been like a dream.

There’s only one thing that still bothers me though. Something that I need to tell him but I swore to Hank that no one would ever know.

Plus, what if it pushes him away from me? This time truly forever. I’m not sure I could live with that. When he disappeared all those years ago, I was devastated.

After that night we had together, I immediately confessed to what happened to Hank. He was sad and hurt which was understandable but he confessed to me that we, as a couple, never really felt right to him.

No one knew that Hank and I had never been intimate before our marriage. We messed around, sure but it was never the right time to finish what we started.

After telling Hank what had happened, I went back to find Gabe but he wasn’t there. He’d packed up and left on the back of his bike not letting any of us know where he was going.

Hank and I started the paperwork for an annulment but the day we were to sign is when I found out I was pregnant. Hank, feeling sorry for me, convinced me that the best thing to do was to stay married to each other.

By the time the girls came along, we’d decided that our marriage could really work if we wanted it to work bad enough.

Both of us knew each other quite well and were still really great friends. Surely something could grow from that? And, it did.

The phone ringing brings me back to reality. Grabbing it from the counter, I smile at the name on the display.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Sweetheart. I can’t come by tonight. I’ve got some club business to take care of.” Gabe says.

“Awe, really? The girls were looking forward to seeing you again.”

“The girls were, huh?” He laughs.

“Yes. The girls.” I giggle.

“What about their mom?” He growls in that sexy way that takes my breath.

“Oh, I don’t know. I really do need time to wash my hair.” I say with as straight a face as possible.

“Damn, the images that conjure in my head. You and I, in a shower, getting all kinds of slippery. Mmm.”

I gasp at his audacity. “You really are a snake!”

His laughter over the phone keeps a smile on my face.

“Just keeping you on your toes.”

Thinking about what we’ve talked about since we started seeing each other, I decide to test the waters on a few things.

“You’ve already explained how you can’t tell me everything when you call it club business but can you at least promise that you are careful? Whatever it is?”

“Absolutely. I’m always careful. I promise.”

“And one more thing.” I say quickly, remembering some of the things I’ve heard Mina and some of the other women talking about.

“What’s that?”

“I’m not sure I could share you.”

“What?” He asks with surprise.

“Actually, I know I can’t share you. With other women, I mean. I know there’s other women at the clubhouse that make themselves available to some of the guys. I won’t share you, Gabe.” Everything comes out in a rush. I’m trying to calm myself when I realize he’s holding back laughter on the other end of the phone.
