Great. Now I look like the dick that wouldn’t let her stay here.

“Just leave. We’ll figure it out,” I say.

“How? You can’t drive her. You’re more drunk than her,” Addison questions, walking toward my room. “I left my bag on your bed.”

I follow her into my room. “I said I’ll figure it out,” I repeat.

She gives me a suspicious smile, her serious tone from out in the kitchen gone. “You were supposed to be the responsible brother.”

“I am,” I grit out.

“Oh? Just not when it comes to pretty girls sleeping at your place?” she asks, taunting me.

“Especiallywhen it comes toher,” I say.

Addy covers her mouth with her hand, hiding a happy little giggle, trying to imply something.

“Stop that. Stop that right now.” I shake my head in disbelief, but I can’t hold back this stupid smile.

“I didn’t sayanything,” she sing-songs.

“She’s like a sister,” I add, trying to sound convincing. “Kind of like you.”

“Well, we’ve kissed, soooo…”

Declan pops in out of nowhere. “Addison. What did we agree on?” he asks, completely exhausted with her but hopelessly in love with her.

“That we’d never mention that I kissed your brother again?” she asks all innocently even though she’s the farthest thing from it.

He looks past her to me, eyebrows raised like this is somehow all my fault. I raise my hands in defense. “Don’t get me involved in this.”

“How can I not when you’re half of the equation?” he asks, throwing up his hands in frustration.

“You hadn’t even met her yet! Was I supposed to pre-emptively know she was your soulmate?”

“Yeah, obviously. Twin telepathy. Duh.”

He’s not actually mad at me. He trusts me completely with Addison.

“Huh?” she jumps in. “Does that actually work? Hey, Deck, what’s your thoughts on Thea and-.”

“Weren’t you guys leaving?” I ask, cutting her off.

“Oh shit!” Addison squeaks, holding her phone up to Declan. “Car’s here.”

She grabs his hand and pulls him toward the door, looking back over her shoulder at me. “Have fun!” She winks, teasing me before they rush out to their Uber.

The door clicking shut is somehow deafeningly loud. I pause to gather strength before turning to find Thea leaning against the back of my couch. She has her hands pressed against the couch, leaning back and causing her tits to push up. Her legs look extra long as she crosses one over the other, and fuck all I can think about is wrapping them around my waist.

Or better yet, turning her around and bending her over that couch.

Dammit.I clench my hand into a fist. I can’t stop my thoughts from flooding there, but it doesn’t matter. I made a promise.

I promised I’d always be there for her. To protect her. To look out for her. I can’t make things messy. I can’t risk taking a chance and messing everything up.

She’s driving me insane. My attraction to her isn’t like anything I’ve ever had with anyone else. I try to convince myself it’s just because she’s someone I can’t have, but deep down I know it’s more than that. I want to feel closer to her. She’s the only person that I let see me. And hell, I want her to see me while I’m fucking her.

“So if you want to sta-.”
