“I know, although he did offer to take care of my needs because, in his words, he doesn’t share and the only place his dick will be is either in my pussy or my mouth.”

Norrie fans her face dramatically. “That’s hot.”

I nod. “It is, and I hate that I want him so much.”

Amelia cocks her head. “What happened between you two?”

Lottie throws up her hands. “Are we just not addressing the comment about a ten-year-old child? He has a kid?”

I groan, not sure if I can share all of it, but I want to share some of it. I’m sick of carrying this burden alone. I never had a girl squad before, not one I could trust with my deepest secrets. Now I do, I want to share with them like they have with me. Linc is great, as are the boys, but girlfriends give you a very different perspective. “I’m gonna need cocktails after shopping and then I’ll share all the details, I promise. But I will say this, Tia is his sister, not his daughter.”

Lottie cocks her head but says no more and I’m grateful. I need a little time to get what I want to share straight in my head. Lucky for me, Norrie is here to lighten the tension.

“Oh yeah, momma’s getting some monkey sex tonight.”

My eyes widen at Norrie and then we all burst out laughing.

Shopping with friendsis much more fun than shopping alone or with a personal shopper. We spent over an hour trying to convince Eden that she needed to buy five new swimsuits for her honeymoon when we all know Ryker is going to keep her naked ninety percent of the time anyway.

“Are we ready for cocktails now?” Amelia asks with a wink.

“God, yes. My feet are killing me,” Norrie moans, glaring at me in my four-inch pumps.

“What? I can’t help it I can rock these babies without crying like a baby.”

Norrie gives me a rude gesture as I wrap my arm around her neck and kiss her cheek. Champagne, and apple juice for Lottie and Eden, flowed as we shopped, each sales assistant hoping that booze and flattery would make us spend more.

“You love me really.”

“I do, but only because you’re going to spill your guts about the hunky Hudson.”

“You remembered that, huh?”

“Yes,” they chorus as we step into the reception of the luxury Bellman Hotel. Heads turn to look at us, a sneer of distaste on their faces ready to reprimand anyone who dares to interrupt their quiet, but the snooty assholes soon smile when they realize who we are.

God, I hate people.

“Miss Kennedy, it’s a pleasure to see you again. Can I get you a table in the lounge?”

The hostess is eyeing us as if we’ve stolen her favorite toys from the sale, and she hates that she has to be nice. I almost feel sorry for her. Four of the most eligible bachelors in the country are married to my friends and I have the pleasure of bursting another bubble.

“That’s Mrs. Carmichael, actually.”

Her cheeks go red, and she nods. “Apologies, I wasn’t… I didn’t….” I widen my eyes as she stutters. “Follow me.”

The hostess scurries off and I watch Eden roll her lips between her teeth.

We’re seated in a private corner reserved for the wealthiest and most important guests.

“Is this table okay, Mrs. Carmichael?”

“Yes, thank you.”

The stunning redhead nods and hands us cocktail menus. “A server will be over shortly to take your order.”

I can see that being nice to us is like sucking on a lemon and it makes me enjoy it more. I know women like her, they’re vultures. Every time I go out with Beck, Ryker, Lincoln, and Harrison women like her paw at them and make it clear that they’ll happily drop their panties for a quick fuck and the chance to say they screwed one of the Kings of Ruin.
