I tilted my hips closer, and he inched back. A carnal chuckle vibrated in his throat. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from his. I licked my lips as his finger crept underneath the elastic. “You are wet forme.” His eyebrow lifted. “Right?”

I looked down at my lap, where his hand was resting, his fingers twitching against me. I squirmed, trying to get closer.

“Uh-uh,” he chastised, pulling away. “Answer the question.”

It was shameful how wet I was. Just being in his presence, seeing him, the true him, interacting with his best friend, watching him conduct business in the easiest of ways turned me on so much. He was powerful, commanding, and arrogant, but equally charismatic, charming, and delectable. “Yes,” I whispered, looking down, wishing I could see through my dress to his hand on me. “Yes, Michael.” My words sounded more like a plea than an admission.

“I thought so,” he answered. As hot as I found his arrogance, I wanted to reach for that face. Kiss his lips, swallow him whole, savor him until the only thing I could taste was him.

I felt the briefest flicker against my clit before he pulled his hand away and squeezed my knee. I wanted to scream in frustration.

“Sorry about that,” Jax addressed us as he returned to the table and took his seat.

I tried to calm my racing heart, my pulsing loins, as Michael shifted ever so slightly to adjust himself. He was just as turned on as I was.

“Any big fires needing to be put out?” Michael asked as he made eye contact with me again, letting me know the question was really for me and not Jax.

I squirmed, wishing his hand was still on me so I could rub myself against it.

“No.”

Michael brought his hand to his face, in an innocent gesture, but I knew what he was doing, knew he could smell me on his fingers. He inhaled deeply, his nostrils flaring, a smile kissing the corners of his mouth.

I took a sip of wine, trying to quench my thirst.

I decided to switch to water for the remainder of our meeting. Jax opened a bottle of our merlot, commenting on the flavor.

“Its aromatic taste comes from black cherry, plum, and even chocolate. The fruits and easy tannins give it that smooth, soft velvety finish.”

As we wrapped up, Jax said, “Please draw up the contracts. I’m looking forward to working with you. As you know, I pride myself on offering our customers the best of the best.”

I felt my chest swell. Grams and Pops were going to be so pleased. Another substantial account for Moretti Vineyards in the books.

“I knew you’d see what I saw, Jax. Great wine, great people. You’ll be very happy with the decision.” Michael seemed as happy as I was.

“I expected nothing less. Thank you for bringing Siena to meet me. So much better than having to deal with just you.” He laughed, clapping Michael on his arm.

Michael’s laugh warmed my heart. I loved the sound and seeing him genuinely happy. “It was a pleasure meeting you, Jax. Thank you for dinner. I’m so glad we could do this.”

“Me too, Siena.” He brought my hand to his mouth, gently placing a kiss upon it.

“We’ll come to see you tomorrow before we head out,” Michael said.

“See you then. Enjoy the rest of your evening,” he bid us. And I swear I saw a twinkle in his eye as he looked between Michael and me.

Michael took me by the elbow and led me out before anything more was said. My heels on the marble floors were the only sound as we made our way across the lobby. He hurried me into the open elevator. I could feel the warmth emanating from him, the soft fabric of his shirt tickling my arm, causing goosebumps to break out on my skin.

He was stoically still next to me, but I would not touch him no matter how much I wanted to. I would not give in. Not yet. The heat he’d generated at the table continued to rise. My lips begged for him to kiss me. My body ached for his touch, but the only hint of his reciprocal feelings was the slight twitch of his hand next to mine. I desperately wanted to wrap myself around him, kiss him, but I needed to draw this out. To let him know, no matter how wet he’d made me earlier, he didn’t always have the upper hand.

“Sixth floor,” the automated voice announced. The elevator slid open, and Michael held his arm across the door as I stepped past him, brushing my body against his. I turned to look at him, waited for him to lower his arm, and fully exit the elevator before I crashed into him and pushed him against the wall as the steel doors slid closed next to us.

My hands immediately jumped to his head, fingers pushing through his hair as I held onto him, our tongues tangling. His hands ran over my body, from my shoulders, over my breasts, down to my waist.

“I want you,” I said breathlessly.

His mouth found mine again, his lips soft, his kiss rough. “You fucking torment me,” he growled.

“I want you inside me. I need you inside me. Now,” I said as I pulled him with me toward my room, my hand trailing his body, grabbing his hard length.
