“I want you to come lay down so we can go to sleep.”

I glance at him nervously but he just smiles at me. I lay my head against his bare chest and he runs his fingers along my spine.

“Dream of something dirty,” he whispers and I chuckle as I fall asleep listening to the sound of his heartbeat in his chest.

The next few days fall into a strange routine. I help Rhonda cook and Edgar takes me to get textbooks for school. The guys are hardly home but each night Asher or Eli slide in my bed to sleep with me. I’m pretty sure Ax is avoiding me and I assume it’s because a conversation still needs to happen about his accusations the other night.

Eli hasn’t made any comments or initiatives to repeat the night he made me come with his fingers, but he gazes teasingly and winks at me when he sees me, letting me know it wasn’t a dream.

By the end of the week all the guys seem in a shit mood and I groan without even attempting to hide it when Ax tells me during breakfast that he needs me to come with him somewhere.

“Lose the attitude. We are going to see Wentworth,” he snaps.

I choke on my egg and Asher laughs at me.

“Why?”

Ax just eyes me like I’m an idiot.

“To get you your life back, princess.”

I don’t even care about the nickname. I just grin and dance happily in my seat. Ax resists the urge to smile as Asher ruffles my head. “About time.”

The drive to Wentworth’s office seems to be moving in slow motion. I’m in a daze and ‘yes’ him to death about understanding as I scribble my name across the sheets of paperwork. Ax signs as well as Mister Wentworth but when I go to stand, Ax doesn’t move. I frown at him, immediately panicking that I’ve been tricked again somehow.

Ax grasps my hand and his thumb rubs the back of my palm. “There’s something else we have to talk about.”

I glance at Mister Wentworth who is sorting out papers and sit back down, feeling my legs tremble.

“Mister West has located a bank account that was in your name and has been accessed by your father over the last few years,” Mister Wentworth says, and he lays bank statements out in front of me.

“I don’t have any bank accounts, though,” I explain, glancing through the pages of transactions. “Certainly not with this kind of money.”

Mister Wentworth glances at Ax and I see Ax’s jaw tense. “Your NDA with Valley Hill had changes made to it,” he says.

“Mary mentioned something about that,” I vaguely remember.

“I’m not sure of the wording of it as I’m having a difficult time locating it; however, I have formally requested a copy. What I do know is that there was a settlement included with the revised version,” Mister Wentworth explains. “Hence, the bank account that was opened in your name.”

I glare at the papers. “And my dad just never told me.”

“And he has been using it,” Ax snaps.

“There is not much I can do about the previous transactions. He was your proxy and it would take a long court process if you want to dispute each purchase—”

I cut off Mister Wentworth who looks ready to have a stroke just over the idea of it. “No. It’s not worth it.”

“Very well,” he sighs. “The money has all been relocated into a new account since the discovery of your father accessing it to ensure he no longer may have access to it.”

I glance at the papers and the six figures staring back at me do nothing to bring me comfort or relief.

Instead, it just makes me feel sick.

Being drugged and raped repeatedly by a doctor that should have been helping me was just a payday for my dad.

“Thank you,” is all I say as my throat dries and I glance at Ax. “Can we go?”

Ax looks caught off guard but nods his head as he thanks Mister Wentworth. Back in the SUV, Ax starts the car but doesn’t pull out of the parking space.
