I brought both hands to the side of her face, trying to ground myself as her smug expression tore into me. “We can do that any other time. We can do that after,” I told her. “Right now, Stellina, I need to be inside of you. I need to know that this is real.”

“Itisreal.”

I shook my head. “Show me how real.”

She spread her legs further and wrapped them around my hips, tugging me into her body closely as I held her face between my hands. “I’m yours, Dante. Nobody else’s. That’s as real as it gets.”

She pulled up her hips just enough that I slipped between her thighs. She gasped, wrapping her fingers in my hair and pressing her forehead against mine. The intimacy of the moment was unlike anything I’d ever experienced as I lifted her into my arms. She began moving her body up and down, thrusting her hips the whole time she held my eyes.

In them, I saw a future that had been murky and unknown until now. All the challenges fell away as her eyes finally rolled back, and she buried her face into my shoulder, biting me lightly.

“Harder,” I demanded.

She bit down harder, surely leaving a mark on my skin. I shuttered from the feeling of it.

I’d get it tattooed there, I decided. No matter what, I’d make sure her marks stayed for as long as possible. I’d do anything to keep this cemented in my memory for however long I could.

“I fucking love you,” she said against my skin. She clenched around my cock. Her body shook and trembled as she moaned lightly against my shoulder, tempering all my thrusting. I felt how close she came to her climax, and I held her closer, waiting until the slight moans turned into long shouts of need. Her head tipped back from the ecstasy of what I made her feel, and I closed my eyes.

As I envisioned everything we’d build together, I came apart right alongside her.

I exploded, and Iknew.I knew this was what I needed.

Epilogue

Sienna

I held our infant son in one arm, rocking him as he slept soundly through the festivities. Gabriel and his entire family traveled from Italy for the occasion, and each one of them came and gave pleasantries at the grand center table where we sat together. Bria rushed around the entire wedding, going between her aunts, uncles, and cousins excitedly.

“Congratulations, Ms. Sienna,” an older woman said, offering a hand and kissing the back of it kindly. “Welcome to the family.”

I’d heard the same thing a dozen times, and I continued smiling through it all, watching the rowdy bunch of Guerras rush around the property excitedly. Weddings, as it turned out, were important and momentous occasions for these people, but the joy they spread lifted a weight from my shoulders as I realized our entire story had been kept under wraps.

I would have thought Gabriel would have warned them about me, but he’d kept to himself most of the ceremony.

“Mommy,” Bria shouted, launching herself at the table. “Can I have a piece of cake?”

I shook my head. “We have to wait a few more minutes to cut it, but I’ll give you the first piece,” I told her. She pouted for a moment before taking a deep breath and nodding sadly.

“Fine,” she huffed.

Little Alexandro readjusted himself in my arms with a yawn before releasing a small coo and going back to sleep. I glanced to where Dante entertained one of his uncles in conversation. The moment I grinned at him, he looked my way, almost as if he could feel my gaze.

He leaned over and left a small kiss on my cheek, placing a hand atop my thigh and squeezing.

“Can you believe we’re doing this?” I asked.

“Getting married?” he asked with a raised brow.

“Does it not feel…” I paused, unsure of what to say. It felt wonderful. I had him and our son. I had Bria and a whole family of people who accepted me here. But I couldn’t get past the overshadowing feeling of guilt.

“Feel like what?”

I couldn’t bring myself to say it. I wouldn’t allow the last difficult situation to overshadow such a happy day. My eyes veeredtoward Gabriel’s chair again. I understood the reason he still didn’t like or trust me, even months later.

Does it not feel like we’re isolating your brother in this marriage?

“I don’t know. It’s just a really emotional day,” I told him, shaking my head and forcing a smile. “I’m going to go and make my rounds for a moment. Do you want Alex?”
