I stared down at the man as he wet himself and knew precisely how this would go.
He would give me all the information I needed; all I had to do was ask. But I couldn’t let him go that easily. Not when he’d been intentionally manipulating me and my assets.
I glanced at where Sienna stood beside the cooler door and waited for her to say something contrary. I expected fear to be wafting from her. That’s not what I saw.
I felt myself stiffening beneath my pants as she looked me up and down and bit her lip.
She pulled it between her teeth slowly. Mindlessly. I could tell the action wasn’t meant to be seductive, but I couldn’t stop staring. I couldn’t get the vivid image out of my mind of those lips wrapped around my cock.
I sucked in a sharp breath and turned toward the cooler door, gesturing for her to exit alongside me. Sienna didn’t say a word as she strode in front of me and out the door. The underling who had taken this call strode out beside us at my beckoning, leaving the owner alone in the cold.
He might try to find a weapon, but if he were smart, he’d sit and wait for me.
As long as he cooperated, I had no reason to kill him today.
“You didn’t even touch him,” she mused.
“Not yet.”
She looked between Damien and me. Damien stared back at her with the same brutality we used on our enemies.
“I don’t want you to see what happens next,” I told her.
“You wanted me to see that to scare me,” she said snarkily. “Why stop there? I’ve seen you kill people. I don’t think this is going to do anything more.”
I shook my head, knowing precisely how many bones I’d need to break. I had my tech guy look into the numbers long before I decided to come here myself. “You’re not going to see me torture a man,” he said. “That’s not something I’d wish on anyone.”
“You’re going to see it,” she pushed.
“I don’t take pride in it. It’s not something I’m going to allow you to watch.”
I watched as her eyes grew dark for a moment, and then, she nodded slowly and took a step back. “You just want me to wait here and listen to the screaming then?”
“Damien is going to take you to the bar across the street. I’ll come over as soon as I finish here.” She narrowed her eyes. “That wasn’t a question, Sienna.”
“You brought me here to show me that you’re not above torturing a random man, and now you’re going to send me away as if I’m yesterday’s garbage?”
She had a flair for the theatrics, and I released a suffering sigh. “We both know I’m not treating you like garbage.”
“You’re dragging me around for no reason.”
We both knew there was a reason behind this little adventure. She’d been challenging me for days, and I needed to show her who I was. I needed her to understand and think better before treading on me again. Maybe I should have demanded she watch the entire scene unfold. If she pushed me hard enough again, I didn’t think I’d be able to hold my temper at bay.
She needed to fully grasp who I was, even if I didn’t want to show her.
“I intend to keep you.”
“As if I’m property?”
Back to this bullshit again. I planned to keep her until I had the information necessary to make a decision, but the thought ofletting her go—even when she pissed me off more than anyone else—started to feel…unfavorable.
I took another deep breath. “I don’t have time to deal with this back and forth right now. Damien is taking you to the bar, and I’m going to take care of business. We can discuss this later.”
She rolled her eyes and turned her back on me, but I shot forward, grabbing her by the upper arm and spinning her back into my chest.
“Stellina, I’m only going to tell you this once,” I said, my voice low enough that only she could hear me. “Challenge me all you want in private. I’d prefer you did, actually. But when we’re in front of my men, you willbehave. You can be stubborn and sassy, but you won’t question my choices, and you won’t roll your eyes at me.”
“And if I do?”
