I could only nod.
“What else did he do to you?”
My mind drifted to the most brutal of his lessons—the ones involving torture and capture. He’d taught me techniques to hold out under an interrogation. “Interrogation training. He broke two of my fingers,” I admitted.
Dante’s eyes lifted to the hands he held above my head, and I marked the moment he saw the slight crookedness to my left pinky and ring finger.
“I’ll return the favor,” he promised, dipping his head so his eyes were level with mine. His finger curled inside of me, and I rolled my eyes back into my head for a moment. “When I touch you, Stellina, I want you to know that you’ll never endure like that again. I plan on tying you up and gagging you. I intend to pullyour hair, bite you, and choke you. But I need you to know that I’dneverdo anything that you don’t want me to do.”
“I know that,” I panted, trying to raise my head enough to meet his lips.
“I plan on killing Valentino slowly for what he did to you.”
I considered his words, and though the pit in my chest still felt hollow from Valentino’s betrayal, I ground my teeth against it. Forgetting the years he’d played as my father was impossible, but the things he’d done outweighed any good that he’d ever done in the past. He deserved what Dante had planned. He’d lied and deceived me. He’d used my family’s deaths to manipulate me.
But for Dante, it was deeper. Valentino wanted him dead, and he would stop at nothing to do it.
Dante deserved revenge, and I wouldn’t stop him from getting it.
“Good.”
He slammed his lips onto mine, and I felt the claiming for all it was worth. I didn’t need to be protected or defended, but damn it, I’d never felt safer or more seen than I did right now. Knowing that I didn’t have to worry about myself brought a weightlessness to my shoulders that I couldn’t remember ever feeling before.
“I’m with you,” I whispered to him, breathing deeply through the pleasure he brought me. “I’m with you forever.”
“You don’t have a choice,” he said against my mouth. His teeth nipped at my lower lip before sucking it into his mouth. The way he pressed his hard length into my body had me shuttering and gasping.
“More,” I begged. “Please, Dante.”
“Tell me what you want.”
