“I’ll need to promote it some. Maybe a sign out front.”

He laughs. “Definitely get a sign, man.”

I had Tony go get a chalkboard sign to put outside earlier and I wrote down all the details for tonight. It worked because the place is packed. It’s like the entire town is here, wanting coffee and music.

“Thank you all for coming tonight. I hope you’re ready for the musical talent of Rigsby Collins,” I say into the microphone.

Rigsby, an older gentleman with graying hair and a rockin’ beard, hops up on stage and the place is deafening with applause. I go stand next to Paxton and puff out my chest with pride. “This is the best turn out yet.”

“Funny how a little advertising will do that,” he says with a cocky told-you-so grin.

Fawna and Lindy Lockhart appear out of nowhere and push their tits that spill out of their tiny blouses closer to me.

“This is amazing, Harrison,” Lindy says, glancing at her chest and back up at me.

“We told everyone about it to make sure they were here,” Fawna chimes in.

“Thanks, I appreciate that.”

What I’d really appreciate is for them to take a few steps back because I’m feeling like one of them is about to push their hands up my shirt.

“So, this is different.”

My attention is drawn to Lennon as she looks around. If Lennon is here, that means February is still trying to get intel on how I do business. She either sent Lennon or she’s here, possibly behind the counter.

“Yeah, I like to mix things up.” I glance around but don’t see that body I’ve dreamt about slinking around the place. My eyes slide to Lennon and I raise an eyebrow. “First time you’ve been here, I believe.”

She taps her lips with her finger, glancing at the ground. “I believe you’re correct.”

“Why the sudden interest?”

“Yeah, what’s up with that, Lennon?” Lindy questions, jealousy written all over her face.

Lennon rolls her eyes as she shrugs. “Just checking out what has this town talking.”

“Or could it be you’re a spy for the cute dirty-blonde staring in the window?” Paxton asks, grinning.

My eyes swing that way and there she is.

February in the flesh. So much flesh in a little pink dress that hugs her body just right. It hangs off both shoulders, exposing her delicious skin and her long tan legs.

She’s a bombshell.

My little spy. It would be just as obvious if she had her face pressed against the window like a toddler licking the glass.

I step away from everyone, hearing Lennon shout my name to stop me. But that’s not gonna work. There’s no ex that February is hiding from this time. No, she’s here spying. And I’m going tocatch her red-handed.

She presses her face against the window and I shake my head. She’s been caught and she knows it.

I rush outside so she doesn’t have a chance to bolt again. “Jotting down ideas or waiting on Lennon to pass them along to you?”

Chapter 5

February

Shoot.

“I can explain,” I spurt out, trying my best to give him a smile. “I really can.”
