“What happened?” he wondered. “Why didyou leave them?”

“It’s a long story. If you really want to know, then fine, I’ll tell you. But it stays between us. Nobody else can know, not even my boys. Understood?”

“Of course, Unc. Have I ever let you down before?”

“You have not. Which is precisely why I’m trusting you with this information. However, before I proceed with this dire trek down memory lane, I need you to tell me everything you know about Samara and how she ended up in Damien’s grasp.”

Another uneasy expression washed over Griffin’s face as he shifted uncomfortably in the recliner, a dark storm brewing through what I could see of his swollen eyes.

“You might want to grab us another bottle. We’re gonna be here for a while.”

Rhett

Iletoutahiss from Hell as I reached up and swiped my knuckles across my busted lip, cringing when Phantom bellowed out a viperous growl from the backseat of my SUV. Isaac was back there with him, fighting for his life as he struggled to hold Phantom down, desperate to keep the monster on its leash.

“Don’t fucking touch me! I swear to fucking God I’ll shoot you, Isaac. BACK THE FUCK OFF!”

I pressed down harder on the gas, eager to get as far away from the Gentlemen’s Club as possible before Phantom got the mad idea to murder Isaac, shatter my fucking windows, then yeet Isaac and I both out of one. I still couldn’t believe this was happening. That itdidhappen. One minute, everything was fine, then in a single fucking blink, it was downright chaos.

We were watching the stage, fucking pussy-struck, when the next thing we knew, Phantom had jumped to his feet and was glaring murderously at the stripper. Isaac and I were dumbfounded at first and had almost dismissed it completely. But when we glanced back at her, spotting that huge goddamn scar on the back of her calf, the gates of fucking Hell itself had broken loose.

Phantom had whipped out his gun, and if it weren’t for Isaac tackling Phantom to the ground before the shot fired, Samara—or at least I suspected it was Samara—would’ve been dead right now. It was a goddamn shit storm after that. People were screaming, scattering like flies. Other men who’d seen Phantom pull his gun had tried to jump him, which resulted in an outnumbered brawl of three against seven. We held our own and were fortunate enough to make it out with minor injuries—and our lives, most importantly—but I was beyond fucking relieved when the bouncers finally jumped in and broke the fight up.

Damien had thankfully taken off minutes prior, and due to him having this rather surprising yet bullshit reputation of having anall turf and gang friendlyestablishment, his men decided to spare us. We were, however, officially banned from setting another foot inside the clubandon Outlaw territory. Not just us, though. It was all Ravagers as a whole. Ifanyof us disobeyed and were caught, we’d be gunned down on sight. Isaac and I literally had to drag Phantom out of the building and throw his heavy ass inside the car after all that shit went down.

“Turn the fuck around, Rhett.”

I glanced in the rearview mirror, internally cursing as my eyes raked over Phantom holding Isaac in a chokehold, his eyes black with rage.

“Now, goddamnit! We have to go back! We have to take her and—”

“We can’t do that,” Isaac choked out, straining to breathe. He flailed his arms around, trying to strike Phantom, but failed.

“She’s a fuckingOutlaw,” Phantom snapped back at him, his chest heaving. “Damien sent her to spy on us!”

Isaac tried to speak again, but Phantom’s arm squeezing tighter around his neck had restricted Isaac’s airway.

“Phantom. I know you’re angry. We all are. But Isaac is right. They’ll kill us and you know it.”

Phantom scoffed and literally catapulted Isaac to the side, making my car jolt hard to the left as Isaac’s bodyweight struck the side door. Isaac let out a painful groan when the side of his head bashed against the window. I didn’t have to look to know there was an ugly spiderweb crack skated along the glass.

God damnit.

A low growl thundered through my tight chest as I hit the brakes and eased off the side of the road, whipping around to face Phantom when I parked. His dark gaze eyed over my face before his upper lip curled up in an indignant sneer.

“You need to calm the fuck down,” I angrily gritted out, way too fucking overstimulated to deal with his shit right now. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done!?”

We were mortally fucked now thanks to Phantom’s half-cocked and brazen sense of intellect, and he hadn’t even realized it. Or maybe he did and was just too blinded by rage right now to really give a shit. It was obvious he didn’t, or else he’d be thinking logically.

“She’s a fucking Outlaw,” he repeated with unyielding disdain, his jaw thrumming. “All of those fuckers have been playing us like goddamn fiddles from the start!”

“And we’ll handle it,” Isaac promised, a curse feathering off his lips as he finally eased himself back up and into his seat, rubbing his head. “But what you’re failing to comprehend is that you royally fucked the whole crew over tonight.”

“He’s right, Phantom. Thanks to the fucking stunt you pulled, if any of us Ravagers inch a toe in their territory and get caught, we’realldead.”

That didn’t even scratch the surface of how deep a hole he’d just buried us in.AllRavagers were banned, meaning the three of us, our father, and our crew on the streets were marked. Father made an agreement with us three years ago just before we became Freshman at the academy, when he felt we were old enough to start partaking in the family business. The rules were simple. Father was the head honcho over everything pertaining to the streets. He controlled our turf and any and all business arrangements while my brothers and I held control over the academy. We were not to interfere whatsoever with any street-related affairs unless Father felt the circumstances insisted on it. It was both an agreement and a bond that hadneverbeen broken.
