“Okay,” I said a few minutes later, scrutinizing them again with tight eyes. “We know you have a weapon, so just hand it over and nobody will get hurt. After that, we can discuss business.”

Kaden sharply cut his eyes at Lucian, who bellowed out a hasty sigh before reaching around and withdrawing his weapon. He clicked on the safety and then carefully lowered it to the ground.

“Andyouare?” he asked, his dark glower still volleying between the weapons still pointed at his pretty head.

I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Right. I’m Rhett. The big one with answer issues is Phantom, and the blond is Isaac. We’re the Ravagers. We’re in charge around here.” I pointed between the two of them, having just realized they were a few alliance members short. “I thought there would be four of you?”

“Wesley and Cody couldn’t make it,” Kaden finally spoke, clearing his throat. “I’m Kaden, by the way,” he added, proving me right.

“You’re the one Phantom’s been talking about.” I peeked back at my brothers, raising my hands for them to back off. “It’s okay, fellas. You can drop your weapons. They’re cool.”

Phantom and Isaac slowly put away their weapons despite the ruthless glares still plastered on their faces. Quickly I snapped my fingers at Phantom, then nudged my head toward the SUV.

“You got the money for the computer, right?” Phantom asked aloud.

Lucian sharply whistled at Kaden like he was a fucking dog and cocked his head near the Charger’s trunk. Kaden, who looked like he was seconds away from knocking Lucian’s teeth down his throat, cursed under his breath, then stomped over the trunk, retrieving a duffel.

“Easy with that,” Lucian demanded in a grunt. “There’s more than just money in there.”

“Good,” Isaac responded with a dark, excited grin. “You remembered to bring the product.”

“Product?” Kaden angrily spun around; his stiff brows raised high. “What product?”

“Drugs, you moron,” I cackled as I took in his appalled expression. “It’s all part of the business arrangement our parents set up.”

Lucian marched over to Kaden then, whispering something we couldn’t hear as he snatched the bag from Kaden’s hands and trekked over to my car. Kaden’s hands curled into tight, trembling fists as Isaac and Lucian began pulling out the weed, pills, and coke, and it was then when I saw how he was death-glaring Lucian that Kaden didn’t have the slightest fucking clue about the drugs or what was really going down tonight.

Oh, fucking well.

Not my crew, not my problem.

Isaac and I continued discussing the drugs with Lucian while Phantom veered away from us to complete his little business transaction with Kaden. We stowed the drugs away in my trunk and then passed off a much larger, heavier duffel to Lucian.

“Hey,” Isaac called out to the others, who were still in deep conversation. “You two going to stand there and chitchat, or are we going to finish this meeting?”

Phantom rolled his eyes and motioned for Kaden to follow behind him. After safely depositing the computer in Lucian’s car, Kaden finally joined us.

“So, here’s the deal,” I started, interrupting Isaac. “The only way this alignment will work is if we can come to terms with an arrangement our parents will agree to.”

“What kind of arrangement?” Lucian asked.

“Your father is big in the drug trade industry, whereas mine is successful in weaponry. That duffel in your hands contains unregistered weapons without serial numbers, plus the ammo.”

“Wait a minute,” Kaden hotly broke in, glaring between each of us. “First drugs and now weapons? I don’t think this is a—”

“Continue,” Lucian cut him off with a raised hand, which made Kaden scoff and punch him in the shoulder.

“Is there a problem?”

“No,” Lucian answered through gritted teeth, shooting Kaden a warning look from the corner of his dark, slitted eye. “Continue.”

“Your family will provide ours with the drugs, and we’ll provide yours with the weapons. The next step is dividing the profit.”

“Half.” The words blurted from Lucian’s mouth without a second thought. “No 80/20 bullshit or 60/40. We had that former arrangement with the Whitmore family, and we discovered they were stealing from us and secretly trying to siphon our personal accounts dry. Father won’t make the same mistake twice. Once everything is sold and the money is clean, we divide everything evenly so there’s no dispute between one side profiting more than the other.”

“My father wouldn’t—”
