“One dick is great. Two, amazing. But you’ve got” —she paused and actually counted it out on her fingers— “four. Four dicks, Samara. That’s four times the stress and headaches.”

And four times the fucking pleasure.

“Maybe so,” I didn’t hesitate to agree. God knew each of those boys had their ways of driving me insane. Isaac was well,Isaac, and I knew there would be bumps in the road given his history of sexual abuse. Phantom was naturally hot-headed and at times he was just impossible to talk to and deal with when he was heated. And Rhett, well… He had an impulsive habit of making decisions that weren’t his to make.

“But it doesn’t change how I feel. I love them, Sky. I really do.”

I only told her because I didn’t want her wigging the fuck out any and every time one of them stopped by. A lot of things changed in her absence but at the end of the day, she was back now, and she was still my roommate. She deserved to know what to expect. I couldn’t leave her completely in the dark.

“No offense, but you’re a fucking idiot.”

“You don’t have to talk to them or even be around them if you don’t want to. All I ask is that you pleasenotmake a scene when they’re around.”

“I'll be civil and won’t speak to them unless they speak to me. But I’m warning you,” she said, pointing a stiff finger at me. “If one of them, and I mean any one of them, starts shit with me first, or dare mentions anything about Brian, it’s fair game.”

“Fine.” I didn’t like it, but I supposed that was as good of a negotiation I was going to get.

“Okay. I’m ready. I assume your mini bouquet ofdickswill be there tonight?”

“Sky,” I growled.

She chuckled softly and didn’t look the slightest bit sorry over it. “Last one, I swear.”

“Phantom isn’t coming, but Rhett and Isaac will be there. We’re not gonna stay long, Sky. Just a few hours at most. We can drink and get tipsy and then we can come back here and have a movie night if you want.”

“I’m down for that,” she said with an approving nod. “Are you ready?”

“I just need my phone and then I’m good to go.”

Sky waited for me outside the dorm while I made a detour to my bedroom to grab my key off the top of my dresser and my phone off its charger. After depositing the items in my back pocket, I met back with Sky, and then we were off to the clearing.

The bonfire was already lit when we made it there, and the students who’d stayed behind were spread out drinking anddancing. Tables were set up with a fuck ton of booze and red solo cups on top of them, and I’d even spotted an unopened twelve pack of spiked lemonades sitting by their lonesome in the dirt. If the box remained untouched by the time I was ready to leave, then those babies were coming home with me and Sky tonight.

I stared ahead, and in the distance, I could see Rhett unloading three beer kegs from a large dolly. “Rhett’s here,” I warned Sky, knowing it was only a matter of seconds before she spotted him too. So far it was just him. Isaac had yet to arrive.

“Don’t worry,” she promised. “I’ll be good. Rhett hasn’t given me a reason to dislike him.”

My heart sank at her words. Little did she know, it was Rhett who’d kidnapped and killed Brian. Sky knew it was one out of the three, but I never did tell her who did it, except…Fuck.

Except that it wasn’t Isaac.

I internally breathed in deep and closed my eyes.Damnit.Now it all made sense.

No fucking wonder Sky acted the way she did this morning. She didn’t believe me. She still thought it was all Isaac's doing.

“I’m gonna go grab a beer,” I said after a moment. “You want one?”

“Maybe in a minute.” Sky lifted up on her toes and waved across the clearing at someone, smiling big. “My friend Hannah is here and I wanna go say hi to her first.”

She ran off without another word, which was actually perfect because it bought me some time to speak privately with Rhett. I was still at a total loss on what to do. Dark times were among us, and even though wanting to tell Sky about the war may have ultimately felt like the right call, in my heart, it was a decision I wasn’t sure I had the willpower to make alone. There was so much to consider, too many risks that could come back to bite in the ass.

Which was exactly why I needed a second opinion.

Rhett had just finished hooking the nozzles on the kegs when I walked up. He cast a glance over his shoulder to find a miserable frown on my face.

“That bad, huh?” he said, giving me a knowing smirk.

I sighed. “I don’t know what to do, Rhett. I'm happy she’s okay, but she shouldn’t be here. She shouldn’t have come back.”
