“Aren’t you going to introduce us to your date?” I ask.

He makes a face. “Aurora, Knox, this is my sister. Sister, meet my teammate, Knox Whiteshaw, and his wife, Aurora.”

Now that he says sister, I totally see the resemblance. Same hair, nose, mouth. I bet they have the same smile.

“Grace,” she says.

“Pleasure,” Knox says.

The vibration increases.

I raise my eyebrows and manage to squeak out a hello, and then we’re in motion again. We circle the table, greeting his other teammates. Royal Lawson, who appears to be flying solo. Dawes, with a girl hanging on his arm in a similar way I’m clutching Knox’s.

I see how it looks and immediately retract.

The vibrations increase. I don’t bow over like I want to. I go stiff, trying not to react. But it’s like an electric wire is lit up along my spine, drawing all my attention down to my core.

“Rule number one,” Knox says, pressing his lips to my ear and threading his fingers through mine. “You don’t pull away from me. Not tonight.”

“Great.”

“Great,” he repeats, watching my side profile. “Rule number two, you tell me when you’re on the edge.”

I grit my teeth. “Is this a lesson in edging, then?”

“I gave you your fill of orgasms earlier.” His grin is positively evil. “Was eight not enough for you?”

The vibrations increase. I can barely think, but my feet are moving. Knox is guiding us. To two open chairs. I sink into one, squeezing my thighs together and willing myself not to let this affect me.

“I’m there,” I manage, my back arching. “You’re an asshole.”

My damn nipples are hard enough to cut glass. They’re definitely visible through the fabric of the dress. He makes me go another five seconds, and I’m just about to actually come in public when it stops.

I sag.

My face burns, and I blink rapidly as the feeling fades. I look around the table, but no one’s paying us any attention.

“Okay, let’s go.” Knox stands and tugs on my hand.

Which he’s still holding.

We go toward another table, where we find Jacob Rhodes and a curvy, gorgeous woman beside him. She’s got dark-rimmed glasses, and light-brown hair loose and curled around her shoulders. Her teal dress is stunning in its detail, and it shimmers when she moves.

“Hey, Mel,” Knox says, his voice a thousand times lighter than any time he’s said my name. He drags me forward and throws his arm around her, hugging her awkwardly. Since I’m still attached to him. “This is Aurora.”

“McGovern?” Mel questions, her gaze bouncing from me to him.

“Soon to be Whiteshaw,” Knox inserts.

I roll my eyes. “Nice to meet you.”

“Melody,” she says. “Jake’s… person.”

Jacob Rhodes snorts behind her, snaking his arms around her waist and pulling her into him. “My person, huh?”

“We’ve gone over the fact that girlfriend is too weak,” Melody mumbles. “So, yeah. Person.”

“’Til he puts a ring on it.” Knox waggles his eyebrows. “I’m going to be your maid of honor, right?”
