He cocks his head, thinking on it, and then nods. “Hm, yeah, okay. We can do that.”

He turns around and leads me to the bedroom, his strides long and sure.

When we get into his room, he turns toward me and unbuckles his overalls.

“You sure about this?”

I nod and swallow roughly. “Yeah.”

He peels his shirt up, exposing his body to me in a slow striptease, and I find it hard to breathe. All those strong muscles, that big chest.

“Feel weird doing this,” Jimbob mutters. “But it’s on my hip.”

He pulls his overalls down, and I see script tattooed on his skin.

“Country boy?” I ask with a laugh as I step forward and trace a finger over the words. “That’s what you got tattooed?”

“Yeah,” he says, looking bashful. “It was a good idea at the time. I dunno. Kind of seems silly now.”

I let out a huff of laughter. “I mean, if you’re happy with it.”

“I guess. It’s kind of dumb now, but I liked it at the time.”

My fingers trace over his warm skin again, and I feel something shoot up my hand, through my arm, and straight to my chest.

“I mean, you look good with a tattoo. Gonna get any more?”

“Nope,” he says, his breath coming out a little raspy now. “I think that’s it.”

“Well, I found an artist in Kansas City. She did this one,” I say, lifting up my shirt and showing him an arrow flying through wings spread across my ribs.

“Oh, that’s real nice,” Jimbob says, his big chest heaving. “I like that.”

“Yeah, it is. Got it last year. So, if you ever want another one, I could take you.”

He nods and then his eyes flash to mine. “That sounds nice. Maybe I’ll get one of a tractor or a mini pig.”

I snort a laugh and the hem of my shirt falls down.

“Seems like a good idea.”

“Yeah. The best idea.”

We stare at each other, the air in the room suddenly becoming thick.

“Did you have a good time today?” he murmurs as he buckles his overalls, and I nod, pulling my lip ring between my teeth.

“I guess.”

His lips tilt up. “I think you had a great time, but you don’t wanna admit it.”

I shrug and then glance away, feeling my entire body start to thrum with pent-up need. Ever since the day by the creek, I’ve been feeling so damn needy.

“Want to go sit outside by the fire before we head out?” he asks, and I shrug, wanting to maul him and those happy lips, but I don’t want to seem too unhinged.

But before we can do either, Ryan strides in through the front door and spots us standing just inside the bedroom.

I freeze, watching as he walks right up to Jimbob and smacks a kiss on his cheek.
