“It is, would look real nice at Jimbob’s place,” he says, and Jimbob seems to think about it for a moment.

“I’ll have a think about it and get back to you.”

“Can’t hold it forever, boy. My signs are pretty popular.”

Jimbob chuckles and then nods. “I’ll let you know. Could always commission one, if that’s what Braxton wants.”

It is what I want, but it’s too soon. Maybe I have more of my mom in me than I thought. I’m already planning on moving in. That’s just insanity.

We move on to the next stall and Jimbob spends an inordinate amount of time smelling the soaps and lotions.

“It’s goat’s milk,” he says and then waggles his eyebrows. “Makes your skin real soft.”

“My skin is just fine,” I grumble as Jimbob holds a container out to me.

“Sniff.”

I roll my eyes but do as he says, and the fruity scent hits me. It smells like peaches.

“I think I’m gonna buy this for you. I think I’d like you to smell like fruit when I do things to you.”

His cheeks pinken as he says it, and I feel my cock harden.

“Where are you going to put that soap?” I ask, and Jimbob leans down toward me and his lips hit my ear.

“Your butt.”

I let out a choked laugh at how serious he is, and when he grins back at me, I feel my heart melt. He’s obviously dead serious because he buys it, and the lotion.

“Gonna eat you like a pie,” he says as he grabs my hand and pulls me forward. I glance around and wonder how these people make a profit here. It’s like everyone in the whole town has their own stall, but I know that’s not true. The whole town does come out to support everyone here though. Even people from the surrounding towns show up.

The place is a madhouse, and by the time we get back to the family stand, Jimbob’s dad desperately needs the break. His mom is there too, obviously having stepped in. His grandpa is asleep in his chair, unhelpful as usual.

“Oh, thank god you’re back. I need to get back to my stand. Aaron can’t handle too much,” Delilah says as she leans in and kisses Jimbob on the nose before turning to me and kissing me on the cheek.

I rub at it, not sure how to feel about that, but my entire body warms in affection for her. She’s been nothing but kind to me since I met her. I can let her smother me with affection if it makes her feel good.

I can do that.

“Meant to ask you, when does your mom get back?” Jimbob asks me as he helps a customer, watching me and waiting for my answer.

“Uh, well, she sent a text last night.” I grab a bag and place some of the items in as the lady pays Jimbob. “Said they are having a lot of fun and she’s staying longer.”

And it seems like they are having a good time. She sent me a picture of the two of them just chilling in the living room, feet propped up in front of the fireplace. It looked cozy and almost relaxing. When she was telling me about her day, it sounded different somehow. I don’t know how to explain it. Normally, her messages would be almost frantic, with long rambling words trying to convince me that she’s happy. But this seemed different because it was less manic. It’s almost like she wasn’t trying to convince herself that this is working out. Instead, she told me they went on a nice walk and he cooked her dinner. Then they sat in the living room, talking and drinking wine. But, again, I’m not getting my hopes up, despite what Jimbob tries to tell me.

I’ve done that too many times and have always ended up disappointed.

“That’s good to hear,” he says, and I nod, handing the lady her purchases. She smiles at the two of us and then moves on to the next stall.

“I guess,” I force out because I still can’t totally trust it. I want her to be happy—desperately—but I just don’t know how this guy can be any different from the others.

I just can’t trust it.

“Hey,” Jimbob says, reaching out and touching me gently. “It’s gonna be good, I promise.”

I don’t know how he can do that, be so positive, but then again, it’s Jimbob. He is just inherently good.

Suddenly, a guy who looks about Jimbob’s age walks up, a wide smile on his face. “Well, hey there, Jimbob. Long time no see!”
