“You ready, brother?” Navy asked as he stopped next to me.

“Can’t wait,” I replied with a small smile.

We didn’t say anything else because we’d heard the car with Avy arrive and I knew it wouldn’t be long before I saw her. I shuffled a little impatiently as first Reaper, Bren, and Ellie disappeared followed by Shep out the marquee.

Five minutes later, Reaper was back in the entranceway with his mum to escort her down the aisle. Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major started, and they walked down the aisle towards us, Kate was smiling big and winked at me as she took her seat. I smiled back at her before turning to watch Ellie followed by Bren walk down the aisle, Ellie throwing rose petals in front of her, a serious look on her face, making sure they were all gone by the time shegot to the front.Bren showed her where to stand and they both beamed wide happy smiles at me. Then it was Noni’s turn, and she was smiling hard as she walked towards us before taking up her position next to the girls.

I took a deep breath, knowing that this was it, she’d be next, and I couldn’t wait. And then there she was, a gorgeous vision in cream lace, standing next to her dad, looking up at him with a smile as he said something to her. Then the music changed to the wedding march and her eyes found mine and the world fell away until it felt like it was just the two of us. I moved forward and waited until they got to me, her eyes never once wavered of mine until it was time for her dad to put her hand in mine, which he did with a smile leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek before leaving to sit next to Kate.

Leaning forward, I whispered in Avy’s ear, “You look beautiful, Sweets.”

She smiled happily up at me until we heard the heavy throat clearing behind us. With a last wink at my future wife, I turned us to the vicar who was waiting on us with his eyebrows raised but had a twinkle in his eyes.

“If the bride and groom are ready,” he questioned with a small smile and there were a few titters of laughter from our guests.

Avy and I nodded at him that we were ready, and he started the ceremony. Because Avy hadn’t known about our wedding, I’d opted for the traditional service and thirty minutes later he was declaring us husband and wife. I didn’t hang around when he said I could kiss the bride. Gathering Avy into my arms, I swooped in and laid a long kiss before dipping her back over my arm at the end. Pulling her laughing back up and into my arms for the vicar to give us the go ahead to leave as a married couple. Which he did in short order.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Mr. and Mrs. Kevin ‘Hawk’ Lawless!”

There were whistles and applause as we walked back down the aisle and out to the clubhouse to sign the wedding registry as well as have pictures taken.

Finally, Avy was wholly and completely mine in all ways.

CHAPTER 8

AVY

We were nearly at Crow Manor. I couldn’t sit still, the bubbles of excitement in my belly were ready to fly, and it had nothing to do with the champagne I had just finished.

Noni had pulled her phone out about twenty minutes ago and sent a text message to I’m assuming Hawk. All I’d got was a wink and a smirk when she saw me watching.

And then Adam was driving us through the gates at the Manor, my eyes widened as we drove past the garage by the main house and onwards towards the clubhouse where there was a massive white marquee set up on the grounds adjacent to the clubhouse. I hadn’t given a thought of where the actual ceremony was going to be held but obviously my man had.

Dad, Reaper, Bren, and Ellie were waiting for us at the entrance to the marquee. The girls looked gorgeous in their cream dresses and purple sashes. Bren was holding a small bouquet and Ellie was clutching the handle of a small basket. I had to chuckle when I noticed that Dad and Reaper were each holding a bouquet. I assumed one was for me and one for Noni, but that didn’t mean that I wouldn’t tease them about it.

Adam swung the car around and parked so that my door was right near where they were all waiting.

I smiled wide as Reaper opened the door for me, standing back out the way. Then Dad was there, and his eyes got a little misty as soon as he saw me. He held out his hand to help me out.

I stepped out of the car and straight into his arms. Inhaling his familiar smell of Old Spice and peppermint from the mints he chewed on the regular since he gave up smoking.

“Hey, Daddy.”

He let out a gusty sigh and let me go, holding my hands out the side so that he could see me properly. Clearing his throat, he blinked a few times before saying huskily, “You look beautiful, baby girl. Just like your mum.”

That had me tearing up, and I blinked rapidly at his words to stop them spilling over before replying with a soft, “That’s the best compliment you could have given me.”

“No crying,” Noni informed us as she and Mum walked around from the other side of the car, where Adam had helped them out. She took her bouquet from Reaper with a grin, “Why thank you, Reap, although it suited you, you can carry it if you want.”

Reaper laughed, “Shut it, trouble.”

Turning to Mum, he kissed her cheek, “You look amazing, Mum.”

“Thanks, son, you all clean up nicely.” Turing to look at the girls who had been standing quietly waiting for us, she smiled, “Well, don’t you girls look beautiful. I love your hair.”

Ellie grinned and twirled so we could see the full effect, “Hawk had the lady at the hairdresser do our hair this morning and our nails,” she held out her hand which had a clear coat on and made her nails shiny. I smiled as Reaper muttered about them growing up too fast. Turning my attention to my older, much quieter niece, “You look beautiful, Bren.”

Bren looked at me with a small smile, happiness clear in her gaze, “Thank you, Aunt Avy and thank you for having us in your wedding.”
